She took to her heels, running back to where she was coming from. They were right behind her, hot on her heels.
She ran as fast as her wolf legs could carry her.
At some point as she ran, she couldn't hear the running steps behind her making her turn to see nothing was actually chasing her. She slowly stopped running, looking around but absolutely nothing was in sight.
Why did they stop chasing her?
She was happy they did but curious at the same time. She thought of the wolf she saw at the other side of the lake. She was sure it was him. It had the same fur color and eyes. Grey.
She wasn't so sure about the eyes as it was just a glance.
She heard loud grunts from the side of the forest she just ran out from. Sounded like a fight was happening or something.
