After Dave Jack and Steve narrowly escaped from being captives the bushmen elders call for a meeting in the village the bushmen gathered Samson the security leader came the bushmen sat Joshua Reuben stood.
"I am very surprised how did the intruders discovered where we live our village is now becoming insecure what are we going to do? Joshua asked sadly.
"Who are these people you recognize?" Joshua asked.
The bushmen held their chins showing that they are worried about the experience they were invaded by their enemies.
"I think they are from one of the haciendas around here," Samson said.
"Which one because we have almost ten haciendas?" Joshua asked.
"Maybe the hacienda we invaded soon and brought twenty herds of cattle" Reuben Interjected.
"Then we are in a problem we need to do something about it," Samson said.
"But we have invaded the hacienda several times but they have not taken any action against us," Joshua said.
"Since we are not sure who are they then, we are only going to take precaution is to increase security by recruiting young men and contract a watchtower" Joshua suggested.
"I agree with you we have a problem we don't have enough arms," Samson said.
"No, we brought several ammunition last month where were you they are in the armory as we speak," Reuben said.
"Let's go and check if we have enough arms," Reuben said.
Reuben led the elders to the armory they opened a thatched hut.
"We have enough guns we only need to recruit young men to join the village military," Joshua said.
The elders agreed to increase the number of soldiers guarding the village.
Dave Jack and Dave entered the hacienda at a high speed they thought that they are being followed by the bushmen they alighted from the horseback and took the horses to the stable.
"We escaped narrowly we are lucky if we could have been arrested what could our boss take as to be," Dave asked.
"I know we could have lost our jobs our only source of income," Steve said.
"We are very lucky but what are we going to do the bushmen area threat to our hacienda? Jack said.
"We will do exactly what the boss said to train the workers tomorrow morning between two am and five am," Steve said.
"Then we need to take the message to all the workers in the hacienda and also the ranch it's not an easy task," Jack said.
"We have the radio call which I saw in the armory we can now distribute to all sections in the hacienda and the ranch," Jack said
"That is a good idea let's pick the radio call from the armory then we immediately distribute now it's approaching three pm the boss is on his way to the hacienda I guess so," Steve said.
They went into the armory and picked up the radio to check if the radio cell has power everything was in order they went into the stable took the horses and moved around the hacienda to distribute the radio call to all foremen.
They came across an old foreman known as Francisco, Francisco smiled.
"Young men are you looking for the ladies they are in the ranch vaccinating animals," Francisco said.
"They all laughed at what Francisco said.
At your age I had thirteen girlfriends all around me" Francisco said humorously.
They laughed at what he said.
"Then how did you manage them its hard to even manage one" Dave asked.
"Nowadays I sympathize with the young generation they have commercialized relationships they look at what they will get in their relationship but not what they will give," Francisco said emotionally.
"In our time there was no money we used barter trade to buy whatever you need but when you were self-reliant in your farm produce all Is well unlike your time your girlfriend would like you to buy something to please them and you instantly send the money for her to come to visit you and after she is done visiting you you have to give her the money for transport and other needs," Francisco said emotionally.
"Dave Jack and Steve looked at each other in surprise and looked at Francisco back.
You young men are careful of women nowadays you will run mad if you are not careful" Francisco said.
Dave removed the radio call and handed it to him.
"My boy, what is this?" Francisco asked.
"It's a communication device used to communicate to many in different locations," Steve said.
"Isn't this a police communication device I normally see them using the device it is known as radio call" Francisco said.
"You are right they often use the device," Jack said.
"Tomorrow morning at four we would like you to inform all the workers to come to the training bay" Dave instructed.
"You mean they should come to that huge hall opposite the administration block?" Francisco asked.
"Yes, that huge hall" Jack reiterated.
"What is the purpose of the meeting?" Francisco asked.
"We want to train them we are visitors here I understand bush men come to invade the hacienda just like the other day?" Steve said.
Francisco's facial expression changed instantly.
"What is wrong you look sad your emotions changed instantly," Jack asked.
"Bushmen are the worst nightmare they killed my best friend Emilio," Francisco said emotionally.
He shed tears uncontrollably he removed his handkerchief and wiped the tears Dave Jack and Steve sympathized with him very much.
"What is making the bushmen attack mercilessly," Steve asked.
"Their tradition and their way of life they believe in the cattle rustling they believe that they are only the one who should own the cattle," Francisco said.
He wiped the tears and looked at Steve.
"You said you would like to train us to fight the bushmen in case they invade the hacienda?" Francisco asked.
"Yes I would like to train all the employees in this hacienda to protect the hacienda and also for self-defense," Steve said.
"What exactly happened to your friend Emilio?" Jack asked.
"He was shot at the close ranch and I still remember who shot him," Francisco said.
"Do you still remember who shot him?" Dave asked
"Yes just like yesterday when a person does you a bad thing it's hard to forget but when someone does you a good thing it's easy to forget I remember a tall ball headed man" Francisco elaborated.
Jack Steve and Dave looked at each other in surprise.
"It seems you know this guy you appeared as if you've come across the guy," Francisco said.
"Yes we came across today," Steve said.
"Where?" Francisco asked frightening.
"We went to their village and they got us in surprise we didn't know how they discovered that we were investigating them," Dave said.
"You mean you went to their village that was committing suicide," Francisco said in shock.
"We were well-armed and ready to face we shot him on his arm I wish I knew he killed your friend I could have finished him instantly," Steve said.
"I am happy I am going to be amongst the trainees in the training bay," Francisco said.
"Then see you tomorrow at dawn" Steve reiterated.
