Derek’s pov "What happened to my father?" she asked, fear lacing her tone. I relished every moment of her distress; it was exactly what I desired and needed to fuel me and bring me happiness. "What happened to my father?" she repeated, this time with a mix of rage and fear in her voice. "If I were you, I would lower my voice," I warned her, sneering. "Let's just say he is where he deserves to be," I said, an evil smile playing on my lips. "Oh my gosh! Derek, you killed my father!" she exclaimed, tears streaming down her cheeks and disappointment evident in her eyes. I couldn't care less about her opinion of me; she deserved this. "It's me you want, so why did you do this?" she sobbed, breaking down, which only served to heighten my excitement at seeing her in such a state. "He got what he deserved, and now you're going to suffer the same fate as him," I declared, revealing my claws and fangs, ready to devour her. "Do whatever you want to me, kill me and be done with it," she said, her voice weary. She no longer cared about what would happen to her. I felt a twinge, a faint flicker of something, but it couldn't compete with the overwhelming hatred I felt towards her. I was about to grant her wish when the cry of a child distracted me. "Oh, I see you brought your child along," I said, a devious smile creeping onto my face. As I approached the car, she stood in front of me, attempting to block my access to the child. "Derek, I'm the one you want. Please, leave my child out of this," she pleaded desperately. "Do you really think your salty tears can stop me, you fool?" I laughed with amusement. "Get out of my way!" I barked, my voice seething with anger. She remained obstinate, refusing to yield. With a swift motion, I flung her aside. I couldn't have cared less where she landed; I simply needed to have the child and kill him. It was the punishment he deserved for his mother's betrayal. "Derek, please don't!" she yelled in pain. I turned to steal a quick glance at her. Her head was bleeding, and she struggled to stand. I chuckled darkly, then continued towards the car. I yanked the door open, but to my surprise, there was no one inside. There was no trace of her son. Instead, my eyes fell upon a recording player, and that's when I realised I had been deceived. In frustration, I let out a yell, a mixture of anger and disappointment consuming me. "Did you actually just try to fool me?" I burst out laughing, a mix of amusement and anger surging through me. I turned towards her, watching as she struggled to get to her feet, attempting to escape. It only deepened my amusement, and a chuckle escaped my lips. "Oh, Bella," I said, my voice dripping with a mixture of mockery and amusement. I began to walk slowly towards her, relishing in her feeble attempts to regain her footing. "My brave Bella," I continued, savouring the sight before me. "You must really think I'm a fool, don't you?" I taunted, as I approached her. When I finally reached her, I grabbed her by the neck, my strength overpowering her. She found it difficult to breathe, her coughing intensifying as I tightened my grip. "De...rek," she stuttered, her voice weak, struggling to push the words out. Her eyes started to flutter, and I could sense her consciousness slipping away. After a few minutes, she succumbed, passing out in my hold. With her unconscious form in my grasp, I decided not to kill her. Killing her would have been too easy, and it wouldn't satisfy the depth of her betrayal. Instead, I dragged her to an abandoned building nearby. As I observed her peacefully slumbering, a surge of unease washed over me. How could she sleep so peacefully? There was no fear in her expression, just a serene smile. It was as if she believed she resided in some heavenly realm. What puzzled me was how she managed to elude me. How did she know I was following her? She had never been easy to deceive. Naive, perhaps, but also courageous and astute. She had fooled the great Alpha Derek, and I couldn't shake off the thought. However, my train of thought was abruptly interrupted by her gasps. "Where am I?" she asked, confusion etched across her face as her eyes darted around the unfamiliar surroundings. "Derek, you didn't kill me," she uttered, bewildered. "I suppose my grip on your neck wasn't as strong as I thought, allowing you to wake up so soon," I half-laughed, a touch of bitterness lacing my words. "Killing you would be too easy," I added, walking closer to her and leaning in. "Now, you will tell me where your baby is," I demanded, anger seeping into my tone. "Derek, please keep my son out of all this," she pleaded, fear evident in her voice. "So, you don't want anything to happen to your precious son," I sneered, giving her a devious smile. "You betrayed me, married a human, and bore him a child," I spat out with fury. "I will never allow you to have a happy ending," I growled, my anger intensifying. Her confusion only fueled my rage. "Derek, please, it's enough. You killed my father, and now you want to kill my child," she said, tears streaming down her face. "Do you know how much I relish seeing tears in your eyes? It ignites my soul," I remarked with a malevolent grin. "Now, you will come with me to your son," I declared, gripping her chin firmly. "You are disgusting," she spat at me. "How dare you!" I roared, my hand swinging across her cheek, causing her to fall flat on her face. "The next time you defy me, I'll rid you of your tongue," I warned, annoyance evident in my voice. "I can't believe I allowed myself to fall for a monster like you," she said, her words piercing through the tense air. Bella's accusation hit me like a thunderbolt. It was the first time she had referred to me as a monster. The weight of her words hung heavily in the room, momentarily catching me off guard. "You really think that, do you?" I muttered, my voice laced with a mix of hurt and anger. "Well, perhaps I am the monster you claim me to be." A bitter chuckle escaped my lips as I tried to regain my composure. "But remember, Bella, this so-called monster will become your worst nightmare if you refuse to reveal where your son is," I hissed, my eyes narrowing with a wicked glint. The intensity of my gaze bore into her, daring her to challenge me further. "Derek!"
