As her question hung in the air, I looked at Emily with a cold expression. The room suddenly felt smaller, and a heavy tension settled between us. I had never expected her to confront me about her secret, especially not in such a direct manner. My mind raced, trying to come up with the best way to handle this situation.
"I didn't know you had a secret," I replied, my voice filled with composure. "What secret are you talking about?" I asked, trying to maintain a façade of innocence.
