Confusion and anxiety clouded my mind as the situation spiraled out of control. This unexpected turn of events was nowhere in my plan. I can't bear the thought of my beloved son being forced into this heartbreaking choice between his father and me.
Taking a deep breath, I broke the tense silence. "No, Asher, Liam will stay with his father," I stated firmly. Asher's irritation was evident in his expression, but in this moment, my priority was my son's safety and well-being. Liam's happiness would be compromised if he came to live with Asher and me.
"You can't make decisions for him, Bella," Asher retorted, his tone dripping with annoyance.
