Iris felt the bed dip and her body get pulled backwards. Her eyes immediately opened wide as she stared forward in shock as her back contacted Jay’s bare chest. “What are you doing?” she hissed. “Shh,” he nuzzled her. “I am here to sleep. Nothing more. I want to hold you.” “What time is it?” “Almost four in the morning.” “Where have you been?” “Securing your safety,” he whispered over a yawn. “You know, your mother is a true piece of work. How the hell your father hasn’t simply pulled his service revolver out of storage and finished her off is beyond me.” “My Dad loves her.” She ignored the gun comment. “Blindly. He blindly loves her, Iris and it is not healthy. Also, she lies a lot. She told more lies in a thirty-minute span than Bo’s sister and she is one of my best spies.” Iris
