“That crazy geezer!” Pamela blurts out. “Insane, but still crazy good,” Timothy comments. “Almost, physically as good as Charlie.” My ears perk up. Timothy seemed like he knows a lot. Should I befriend him? “He’s one of the best challengers,” Tia whispers to me. “He attacks the psyche of the players, so don’t worry much about what he’s saying.” I glance at Charlie. Rather than me, he looks more troubled by what Alman said. How bad is it with his mother, anyway? And how can I use that against him? A soft whirring resounds around the old building and another stair going down appears. Before the others even note his presence, an old man walks towards the stairs. I am about to follow him when Tia stops me. “That man doesn’t seem like he’s going there for the challenge,” she whispers.
