Chapter 2

Samuel's POV "Have you found him?" I asked my bodyguard Arturo about someone in my company who happened to swindle my money. " Yes, boss, we are meeting him tonight. He doesn't have a clue what's coming for him, boss. He just thought we are going out for a beer." Arturo replied, and I nodded. It was a pain in the ass when you learned that one of your trusted men went behind your back and stabbed you. Aside from my hotel chains, I am also running an underground business, which is arms dealing. Nobody knows about it aside from my trusted men. I took over after my father, Frank De' Luca, when he announced his retirement. He was the head of the mafia in Italy and the most feared around there and here. He is a fearless, ruthless, and cold-blooded man. He has killed a lot because they crossed him. He has been forcing me to take over the mafia, but I refused. I don't want to be like him. I want to be my own man. I created a name for myself in the business world. He wanted me to find someone. He said the family owed him and that someone is the p*****t. I didn't pay any attention to him and just turned my back every time he mentions it. I left Italy as soon as I graduated from high school and came to the US for college. I never left after that. I graduated top of my class with a degree in Business and built my first hotel right after college. I am now 27 years old and one of the richest bachelor in Chicago. I don't do relationships. I f**k around. Women flung themselves at me, so I always have a warm companion every night. I'm not proud of being called a womanizer, but it's better than having a nagger of girlfriend and spends my money like water. I don't trust women; I had my taste of one gold digger girlfriend a few years ago, I don't want to make the same mistake again. Women come to me like bees on honey, and no woman has ever said no to me. " Okay, let's go and have lunch at that diner down the road. I want to check the surroundings," I told Arturo, and we went to the elevator to take us down the basement to my car. Ramon's Diner is one of my favorite cafe near my office, not only because he's Italian but because he has a private cubicle where I can hide from the reporters and people. We arrived at the diner and was ushered to our private spot. Ramon personally took our orders and talked to us for a while. Then he went back to the counter and handed the orders to one of the waitresses. Just then, a flushed woman came rushing in, and she had long, wavy, medium blonde hair. She's taller than normal women, even in her flat shoes. She is pretty, actually, with her honey-colored skin, long lashes covering her hazel eyes. A pink luscious lips that look so soft and cleft chin, she is hot even only wearing her denim fitted jeans and a white shirt. She smiled at the waitress serving us and glanced at Ramon, glaring at her. Oh, oh, she's in trouble. She then rushed towards Ramon, and I heard him say, "that's your third this week, Cassie. You better get your priorities straight if you want to keep your job", then he turned his back. I saw the girl rolled her eyes at his back. I chuckled; I find it cute. Then I caught myself and straightened up. I looked at Arturo's raised brows, I raised my own brows at him, and he followed the direction my eyes is going. He chuckled and shook his head at me. "Boss, you have sophisticated women flinging themselves at you. Why waste your time on a waitress?" He said, still shaking his head at me. I glared at him and looked again at Cassie, cute name. Then our waitress brought our lunch and drinks. She has been serving us ever since we started hanging out here. Her name is Cherry, and she's close to Cassie, I think, because I saw them exchange smiles at each other, and she's covering Cassie's back from Ramon. " She's beautiful, isn't she?" Cherry directed her question at me. She must have caught me staring at Cassie again. I can't help but follow her move around the place. Her smile is so mesmerizing. I looked up at Cherry and pretended. I didn't understand her question; she smiled. " Cassandra, Cassie, she's beautiful, right?" She asked again, and I just shrugged my shoulders as if not interested. So her name is Cassandra. I love that even more than Cassie. " She is a working student, and she has been saving to get an apartment somewhere her. She's a Business Ad student and will be graduating in a month. Very hard working and smart girl, she just started a month ago, and I am helping her out until she gets used to the job." Cherry continued, and I pretended I am busy eating, but, in truth, I am absorbing everything she said, storing everything in my head. My curiosity and interest in Cassandra intensify. I want to know more about her, where did she come from? I don't think she's American. Based on her looks, she must be mixed. Cherry excused herself and went to another table to serve. Cassandra bumped her shoulders when they passed each other and said thank you. Just then my phone rang, and my secretary told me that my meeting is about to start. So I told the men to hurry up. I took out my wallet and left $200 on the table. I feel like giving Cherry extra for the information she shared with me about Cassandra. We went out, and I throw a last glance at the woman who stirred something inside me no one has ever done. She was serving one table and took their order. She was smiling at the couple; my heart tugged at that sight. I walked out and went to my car. We drove back to my office to attend a boring meeting. My days consist of a meeting after meeting, and I am so f*****g tired. When night time falls, Arturo informed me that they are meeting the rat at the diner. I wanted to go to see Cassandra again, but I have to wait. I don't want to blow our plan and let Gary, the rat slip out of our hand. Then I received a message from Arturo at 9:45 saying they are ready to go, so I stood and went down the basement to my car. I checked my gun in my compartment and placed it at my back, I may not like my father's work, but I am still my father's son. I don't like people shitting on me and gets away with it. I am not so forgiving and what he took from me is not a joke. He stole millions from me. He's so addicted to gambling and women. He thought it is okay to use my money. Tonight, he will pay with his life. I arrived at the diner. I didn't get down from my car and just waited for Arturo to approach me. I can see Cassandra busy cleaning the counter and was glancing at us. I listened to Arturo and instructed him to bring Gary to the back alley to talk to him before I kill him. We circled and went to the dark alley. Gary is now kneeling in front of me and was begging for forgiveness. I want to get this over with and go home, it was a long day, and I am tired. I kicked his stomach a few times and then aimed my gun at his head, I pulled the trigger, and he went down lifeless. Then I heard a woman scream at my back. I turned around, to my horror, Cassandra is standing there looking horrified and stared at me. f**k! f**k! I am so f****d!
