My father's visit was unexpected. I panicked when he came to my office and demanded an explanation of the incident at the casino. I panicked even more when Cassandra came in, and my father's interest perked.
I don't want him to scare Cassandra away and start digging into her life. So I did what I had to do. I didn't tell him about my relationship with her. I pretended to be indifferent to her at the office and left her without saying goodbye or looking at her.
