Chapter 15

I just stepped outside of the building, taking a deep fresh air to help me recover from what just happened upstairs. 'I can't believe I threw his moves back on him' I say to myself before taking few deep breathes in and help compose myself before I wave for a cab to stop and hop in, I give him the address of my next destination and the driver takeoff. In the middle of the road and stuck in traffic, I let my mind wonder at the earlier events of the day that led me to this moment.

Flashback

After the meeting uncle Hakan took me to the floor where my office will be, it was a standard office environment so dull, ceramic beige floor with white walls and ceiling. From the look on my face uncle Hakan knew that I wasn't facinated by the interior so he waved for one of the workers to come over to us and told him to take note of what I'll say before turning back to me to ask me to imagine how my office would look like and he whispers in my ear "go wild" making a smile creep up my face.

The worker prepared pen and paper to write everything I tell him, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before opening them and stand in front of the room trying to visualise it. I let my mind do its magic and go wild with his ideas, I open my hands towards the floor before saying "dark grey ceramic tiles for the entire floor" I point towards the walls, the door wall, the wall opposite to it and the glass window wall while saying "three white walls" I point to the one wall left, the wall facing the glass window wall and say " this one will be painted in dark blue".

I stop in front of the wall, my back to it and continue " here well be a big semi-circle wood desk with a glass top, a sea blue office chair behind it, two sea blue armchairs for the clients across of the wooden desk and a small circular wooden coffee table with a glass top" I turn back facing the wall and continue "here above the desk chair I want a drawing of a lavender blue scilla and the word Serenity written next to it, on each side of the drawing will be wooden shelves three on each side" I finish.

Than I head towards the glass window wall, I take couple of minutes before starting "a sea blue couch in front of the wall glass window, observing the view of the city, two lavender color arm chairs on each side of the couch and a big circular wooden coffee table with a glass top in the middle" I walk towards the wall opposite to the door and say "here will be a big circular wooden work desk with a glass top, six sea blue office chair surrounding it, wooden shelves across the wall and wooden drawers under them" I turn back towards the door wall and say "here will be a wooden closet and the door will be lavender color as well".

After I finished my descriptions I found uncle Hakan with a smlie on his face looking at me, he tells the worker to go back to work before telling me "don't let Burak get in your head, if you did he will take control over everything. I want you two to be equal partners, in order for that to happen you have to show him that you can put him in place and take the lead from time to time" he tells me, making me remember how he made me feel awkward, shy and blush in front of my employees and that could not happen again.

I nod my head in understanding to uncle hakan before he guide me to the next floor where my employees offices will be, once we stepped out of the elevatot I see burka observing the work when uncle hakan tells me "this floor and the next one are for your team".

I took a look at my surrounding and I find it with out a soul, dull and a boring office it doesn't give any hints that it's an architecture office where designs, arts and masterpiecesee are created. I find myself asking uncle hakan "and how are you deciding the offices?" Expecting an answer from him but I Wass surprised to get the answer from Burak who I thought haven't noticed our arrival

"This floor is for the interior architect, landscapers and civil engineers while the other one is for the interior designers and urban and regional designers. Five people in each floor while the top floor is for our offices and our assistants offices and a meeting room" he finishes with a look on his face that I couldn't decipher yet

I sneak a peek at uncle Hakan and see him urging me to apply his advice, I face burak head on and say "I don't like the way you are developing the offices, it's cold and give the impression of unwelcoming and distant" by the time I finished my sentence I noticedon't how his face turned from the undeciphered expression into a deep scowl

"What do you suggest than, am open colorful kindergarten design" he snap at me with anger laced in his voice while challenging me with his eyes to defy him

'So you want to play than, fine let's play' I tell my self and put a smile on my face amused by his reaction "not a bad idea, it would definitely be better than this dull, life sucking space" I tell him while observing carefully the effect of my words on his face, I get rewarded by his eyes going wide in their sockets and his mouth drops down making me smirk and proud of myself 'game on başımın belası' (game on my curse) I tell myself before flipping my hair behind my shoulder and walk away taking the control back...

End Of Flashback

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard the driver informing me that we've reached our destination, I pay him and get out of the car. I came to the store to buy a mattress and a few things missing before my move, after deciding on the mattress I pay for it and give them the address for the delivery 

"You're in luck, we have a delivery in your area today. We can deliver it for you at 5pm, is that okay for you?" The salesman say

"That would be great, thank you" I say with a smile on my face and leave the store and head to get the rest of the stuff before going back to the house and start packing my things.

Couple of hours later I arrive home and change quickly into some comfortable clothes, I went with a sweat pants and a sports bra. After changing i opened up my bag and started packing my stuff for the move, I have to finish packing by tonight before 5pm to be exact and head straight to my new house and wait for the mattress to arrive. I'll leave the bags in my room for the girls, when they return from work they'll pick them up and bring them to the new house and help me unpack.

We agreed to have our first girls night in the new house and I was successful in convincing them to stay the night with me, we agreed on ordering dinner, watch a movie and have few drinks wile catching up.

Girls Night In

Wè just finished unpacking when the door rang, we ordered chicken wings with honey spicy bbq sauce, cauliflower potato salad, crispy roasted artichokes avocado greek salad and peach cobbler for dessert with vodka as our drink for the night.

We changed into our pjs, set the food on the coffee table in the living room. We each took our seats on the beanbags before we dived in, on the second round of drinks and half way through the chicken wings Defne started interrogating me about what happened earlier in the company, "so would you start talking on your own or do I have to ask?" She say

"There is nothing to say, the other day when I first met uncle Hakan, we talked and I told him that I'm looking for job. And than I was surprised by a phone call from his secretary asking for a meeting with me, when I went there I found out that he already prepared the contract and the offices. It's like he didn't even wait for my answer, he haven't even given me a chance to think about it, he made me sign the contract and than he dragged me into the meeting room where he announced it to you all and than took me towards the offices" I tell them and shrug my shoulders before taking a sip from my glass "but you know what the surprise was?" I asked them only to have their faces looking confused back at me " his son Burak, my new partner do you know who he is?" I ask them and receive negative shake of both of their heads 

"Who?" They asked in unison

"That guy who spilled the coffee on me the other day, the one you filmed Meryem" I tell them and hear them gasp, their eyes grew like saucers, Defne's mouth wide open while Meryem covered hers with her right hand "yeah" I say nodding my head before taking a bite from the potato salad giving them few minutes to snap off their shock.

"How is he at work Defne?" Meryem asked

"İ don't know I haven't been in direct contact with him but I've heard from the other employees that he is a taugh, serious, he only care about work and bottom line, no room for second chances or mistakes" she said while taking a sip from her glass, I found myself chuckling when I heard what she said "why are you laughing?" She asked me

"Well the hend doesn't seem like how you described him" I tell her

"How so?" Asked Meryem while sipping from her glass

"Well I've encountered him multiple times and I would say he is clumsy, depends a lot on luck, can't live without second chances, says sorry a lot, he might be serious and cares about work like you said but he is not as heartless as you have described him. He is supper annoying, full of himself, has a huge ego and need to be out in his place from time to time but he cares and have a soft heart" I say taking a bite from the Greek salad trying to avoid their gazes which where digging holes inside of me "what movie would you like to watch?" I ask them in an failed attempt to change the subject 

"Nice try, but you won't get away that easy" Meryem say

"There is nothing more to say, I've signed the contract and Monday will be my first day at the company. I took a look in the offices, I gave them my ideas and hopefully by Monday the offices will be ready for us. I'll meet the team and start to get to know them, I just need to hold interviews to find an assistant for myself other than that nothing" I tell them with a shrug and popping an artichoke in my mouth.

"Mr. Demir told me to help you until you settle down and find an assistant while the secretary will cover for me with his work" Defne says before taking a chicken wing from the box

"Really?" I asked surprised to which she just nodded her head busy eating her wing

"So about the movie" said Meryem "would you like to watch Netflix you guys?" She asked and we both nod our head while I take a wing from the box, she turned on Netflix and opened the movies section before she asked us "what type? Or what movie?"

"Skyscraper, fantastic beasts, street dance 2 or the bounty hunter choose one Defne" I say

"Let's start with fantastic beasts" she say 

"Fantastic beasts it is than" Meryem says before clicking the movie
