The music in the bar wasn't really to my taste, but because I had agreed to come out with the boys, I had no choice but to grin and bear it. It was jam-packed, making me wonder if there was anything special happening that I did not know of.
'Loosen up, Jay!' My friend, Landon placed his arm around me and pulled my head down before he messed my hair up. 'There ought to be some lucky lady who will be warming up that lonely bed of yours.'
I pushed him away and shook my head, 'my bed has been perfectly ok, for the past few weeks. I don't need to come to a bar just to find a person to f**k, Landon.'
'Leave the boy alone,' Travis-another friend of ours said as he took a swing of his beer. His eyes kept darting over my left shoulder to the dancefloor. 'His partner in crime is not here. Besides, he is right. We don't really have to look for ladies, they come to us.'
We were a group of four men who have known each other for a while. Each had their own personalities that attracted different women. Even though it had been a while since we each were in relationship-well serious relationships.
I gave him a smirk, 'you are absolutely right, Trav. And why are you on my case, when was the last time you had someone warming up your bed?'
'Last night,' Landon said arrogantly. 'I had this voluptuous blonde bombshell who kept me up all night.'
'So that is the reason why you kept dosing off during the client meeting!' Travis shook his head at him, seemingly pissed off at him. Once again his eyes darting to over my shoulder.
Landon shook his head, 'nope. The bloody i***t was just too boring. That was a waste of my two hours, really. Call me for my expertise, that is what you are paying me. When I give you my opinions and strategies, it is because I have spent time-which is money-to look at all the scenarios that might occur to make you lose money. What I will give you is a full proof plan. What I don't appreciate is then you bring in a university freshman to criticize my work,' Landon stated.
'That is what happened?' I asked with my eyes wide. Landon and Travis were two forces behind a financial investment company. They made their first million by the time they were in their early twenties and their advice was not to be taken lightly.
'Yep!' Travis said as he finished his drink and stood up. 'I am going to dance. There is a hot chick right there that has caught my eye.'
I laughed as I watched him walk towards two ladies who were dancing together. 'So what did you do after that?' I asked as I watched Landon move and take Travis' place.
'Decided to come to get drunk tonight,' Landon answered, 'and hopefully get laid. Speaking of which, check out the chick dancing with Travis.'
I turned in my seat and looked to the dancefloor. I know Travis. Even if he was dancing with a woman he usually kept his distance but what I saw on the dancefloor had my mouth hanging open. They were practically having s*x on the dancefloor. The woman barely reached the shoulder of his 6'4 frame, they moved together as if they were the only ones on the dancefloor. 'I guess someone is getting lucky tonight!' I stated as I turned to Landon.
'He is not the only one,' he said as he stood up and made his way purposely to the woman who had been dancing with the one partnering with Travis.
I watched as Landon smoothly cut into another man's dance, smiling when there was a little hesitation on the lady's face before she gave him a smile and they started dancing.
Shaking my head, I stood up and walked to the booth, to get a refill only to hear the bartender getting told off by a strawberry blonde woman.
'A beer! Not some funny colored drink, just a beer. Simple and easy!’ she exclaimed as she looked at the drink in front of her as if it was something alien. I watched as she got her beer, placed the blue drink in front of a woman who had just approached the booth before she disappeared into the crowd.
'Hey, handsome,' a woman on my left purred. She slithered next to me, making sure her barely covered thigh rubbed against mine. 'Want to buy me a drink?'
I looked her up and down. She would have been a beautiful woman if it wasn't for all the makeup on her face, it looked as if it was an inch thick. 'Sure. What are you having?' I asked as I signaled for one of the bartenders to come my way.
'I will have a sweet-tart lollipop martini,' she said to the bartender before turning to me. 'So, are you alone?'
I nodded as I did not see a reason to lie, 'I was with friends but they are now occupied elsewhere,' I answered. I nearly choked on my drink when the bartender placed an identical drink to the woman that was just rejected in front of the woman. 'It's red,' I commented. 'Just like your hair.'
The woman must have taken it as a compliment because she moved even closer and whispered suggestively, 'that's not the only place that is red.'
I gave her a once over, 'I bet it isn't. Look, you seem like a very nice girl, but I am not into that.'
'Oh, you are gay?'
'No!' I said sharply. 'No, I am not gay!'
She shrugged as she took a sip from her red drink. 'You must be because no one ever says no to me.'
'I am an exception,' I said as I drained my drink, calling it a night. I placed a few dollars on the counter before walking away, leaving the woman alone. Reaching for my phone I quickly sent a text to Travis and Landon about my plans to call it a night.
As I was making my way out, I heard a familiar voice shouting on top of the music. It was the woman who was refusing the red drink from the counter. As I walked closer, I could only see the back of her head as she talked to Travis.
'Mind turning around so I can check them out?’ I heard her say to Travis. The lady that was with Travis moaned as if in pain. ‘What? It’s my birthday so I can do anything I want.’ There was a little giggle before she spoke again. 'Meaning I can look at his buns, you dirty-minded twerps! Steel, I am...'
I could not catch her name because right at that time Landon came through with the lady he had been dancing with for a good few minutes.
'Jay, my boy! Meet Sasha, she is very fierce!' Landon lowered his voice as he said the last part, before putting his hand on her waist and pulling her to his side.
I smiled politely at the beautiful woman, 'nice to meet you, Sasha. I am actually getting the hell out of here.'
'Oh,' Sasha seemed to be disappointed. 'Goodnight to you! There is Taylor, I am sure Kim is gone already.' she turned to Landon.
Landon nodded and turned to me, 'You picking up Travis tomorrow morning right?'
I nodded and waved to them. I really wanted to get out of there and head home for the night. As I made my way towards my car, I could hear a person muttering to themselves. Scanning the parking lot, I noticed the strawberry blonde trying but failing to unlock her car.
'‘Seriously! I am not even that drunk!' she muttered angrily.
'Need any help?' I offered as I approached her. She turned to me, her eyes narrowing as she tried to look at me. My breath caught in my throat. She was simply beautiful. Not cute or pretty but beautiful. Her hair was shorter than what I had thought earlier, cut to frame her face. Even in the dark, you could see she did not have very minimal amounts of makeup on her, but she looked so fresh. 'May I?' I reached for her keys.
She looked at my outstretched hand for a few seconds before placing her keys on my palm. I did quick work on getting the car door open before moving aside. 'It's open.'
She smiled at me, her smile going straight to my nether region, 'Thanks.'
Thinking I had to get out of there quickly before I asked her to go home with me for the night, I winked at her and started to walk away.
'Wait!' she called me. I turned to her, waiting to hear what she had to say. '‘Uhm, you come here often?’
I could not stop the smile that formed on my face. So it seemed I was not the only one affected. 'Maybe.' I said. Taking another long look at her, I turned away and walked towards my car, in my head making a plan to come to this club again and again so that I could meet her again.
