5 The next day, Remy was still all knotted up inside, wishing desperately that she had some quiet time to sort out her thoughts. She was supposed to work later in the evening, but her heart wasn’t in it. “Girl, call in sick,” Larkin told Remy when she said as much. “Oh… I shouldn’t,” Remy said. “I called out like three times this year already, when Shiloh had that really bad fever.” Shiloh squawked, happy to hear his name. “You’re a single parent.
