I walked towards the exit of our department’s building, and when I stepped outside, I immediately saw Kaya. She was standing at the stairs in front of the building with other students. I did not know who they were, but they were probably her friends from our department's building.
They looked like they were having fun, seeing how Kaya laughed happily. Are they planning to have a drink tonight again? I thought to myself when suddenly she turned her head at me as if she felt that I was already near.
“I’m sorry. My cousin’s already here. We have to go now.” I heard her said as I walked towards them. She then waved goodbye to them and went in my direction.
“What took you so long?” She asked as soon as she reached me.
“Sorry. I did not think it would take that long.”
