*Shelby* Lin burst through the door, throwing her arms around me. Her embrace was tight, but my heart felt heavy and unresponsive. I hugged her back, so happy to see her. It was always good to see the smiling, supportive face of one of my best friends. But after the visit with the doctor at the clinic, I couldn't help the tears that filled my eyes.
