"I can't believe they did that," Ember said, her voice breaking. "It was so terrifying, Drake. I thought... I thought I was going to..."
Drake's fists clenched involuntarily, his anger burning hotly. He reached out to gently wipe away a tear from Ember's cheek, his touch tender. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Ember. It's unforgivable, and they won't go unpunished."
Ember nodded, she trusted Drake at the same time, she knew how impatience he is.
"I know you'll make sure justice is served, Drake. But please, promise me you won't do anything reckless."
Drake met her gaze, he gave her a bitter smile.
"I can't promise you that, Ember. I'll handle this the right way and give them what they deserve, they have to pay for everything. However, your safety is my top priority for now."
