Kennedy I was surprised that I ran right into Orcas Howle once again. It was fate right? He looked very hot tonight, his hair was all messy, I thought it was kind of cute, he was drunk though. I wanted to kiss him again, am I totally nuts? It was a good night for making out, but when he opened his mouth to talk to me, oh no...he was wasted. I decided it was best to get him home. I couldn't take advantage of him in this state. So I decided I might go check out that cemetery, is that a crazy thing to do? I guess so. But first off, I needed to know how close my castle was from this brutal serial killer. And also my curiosity was very great. I am a weirdo, in that I like macabre things. I mean mysterious murders, creepy cemeteries at night. I just felt compelled to go there. It was very dark out there. I put my phone flashlight on and then I saw it, crime scene tape. The woman's body had been outlined, a corpse without a head. There was another painted circle on the ground about 20 feet from the first. The head? I looked all around me and read the tomb stones. Some of the names had my family's moniker, Starling. Fascinating. How old are these head stones? Many were from the 1700's. I took a mental picture then headed back to my old car. I sat inside thinking about what makes a person kill another person like this, it was indeed inhumane. I shook my head and drove a few miles back to my castle home. The next morning... I had a call from June bug, my sister. She left this message for me,"Dad is in bad shape, he called me drunk. I think you need to stop goofing off in Scotland and get home now!" Wow, and how are you today? She didn't even say hello, just yelling, and more yelling. I called her back. " Before you rudely yell at me again, I have plans to bring him here to stay with me, I think he needs a change in venue. I need you Bug, to bring him. You get a break soon for labor day or something?" My sister tended to be single minded, to my surprise, she agreed. " I will bring him, but Jill, Monroe, and Amanda are chomping at the bit to see this family castle of ours. So send a jet for us all, also we need cash for new wardrobes, is it very cold there?" She asked. I wanted to get mad at her attitude, but she has always been a straight forward person. She says things like it is. I ended our call and made my first pull on the bell for Gus. He didn't come, he sent Douglas, his intern. Douglas had that very red hair and freckles, his eyes were nearly magnified 4 times by those coke bottle glasses he wore. He was just a kid, 18 maybe, but he was nice. " Miss Starling?" He asked me, who else would be ringing that bell, I tamped down my sarcasm. " Kennedy, please no formalities with me. Listen I'm not very good at trip planning and such, but I need a private jet to bring my dad, my sister and her three friends to Oaksprings. I need you to make it happen for me. Got that?" I saw him nodding but then he said," What now?" I had to walk him through it all, I could have just done it myself after all this hub bub. He removed his glasses a moment to clean them. " Listen, you ever considered contacts, you do have lovely eyes, when they are not magnified like a bug." He looked at me then and smiled. "I think you are really pretty too Kennedy." I put my hand on my hip. "I see, well let's get in the friend zone real quick here, its not happening with us, you and me." I had to cut this off now. " Oh, I thought we were courting?" He said, looking down. Then looked up and grinned, he was used to rejection. I took his shoulders. "I have some very beautiful women coming here, one of them is right for you, not me though. You will see, I am a dandelion compared to these roses. Don't you worry." I wink at him. He shook his head. "I very much doubt that." I decided he would be the best person to help me snoop around for the lock that fit this key. " Doug, do you read ancient Gaelic?" I had to find a translator. " My friend Lucas Moore at the library does, he's really good too. He is the head of the historical society, been here forever." " I'm going to go change, you meet me in the car, as in go get the car and pull up into the driveway." He nodded and left. He turned around in a full circle. He handed me a thick heavy paper envelope. It had a red wax seal with a stamp in the shape of a an old fashioned wolf standing upright. Very Gothic. I opened it carefully. Later, I would come to cherish this first of several letters from Orcas Howle. " You are cordially invited to the annual charity gala." There was a hand written section on the bottom of the printed invitation. It was written in ink and quill. Miss Starling, many thanks for your assistance last evening. I do hope you consider coming to our annual family Gala, I know my sister Rena will enjoy seeing you very much. Yours kindly, O. Howle Jr. I smelled the envelope for some reason. It was like a woodsy cologne, nice. I went into my huge oversized closet. Strangely enough all of these clothes fit me. I pulled out a white shift and paired it with a leather style vest that one would lace up tightly to show ones ample breasts. It was very nice when not laced up too tightly either. It had stiff short pointed sleeves just at the very top. I pulled on a pair of black leggings and some calf length leather boots. I didn't have time to look in the mirror, so I tried to tame down my hair and run out to the car. Oh shoot, I forgot my book and the papers grandma left for me. I turned to run back and I saw my reflection. I was astounded. I looked like a pirate, very rogue. I liked it very much. I swiveled around and nodded. Judging by my driver Douglas, I chose well. " Damn." He said. " Young man, do not cuss." I winked at him. He drove us over to the library. I got out of the car. One of the city workers did a wolf call at me and whistled. I ignored them. I went up the two flights of stairs to the office. I knocked on the door. " Come!" A younger man sitting at a huge oak desk called me to enter. I was expecting an old man since Doug said he had been here forever. Lucas Moore was a very handsome man. He had jet black hair. His features were almost feminine. His lashes very long. I stood there staring like an i***t. He looked up slowly. " Oh, I was expecting Mrs. Charlotte the other librarian. Please come in, sit. How can I help you?" He reached out to take my hand. I took his hand, his fingers were cold, long. His nails were painted jet black. He wore a white shirt tucked into some brown slacks. Very nerdy. Lucas smiled. I was staring. I felt lost in the lavender eyes of his, those must be contacts I smiled. He is definitely gay, I thought. I felt very comfortable around him realizing this fact about him. " May I take your uh vest?" He asked politely. I shrugged and slowly undid the lace straps. He watched me closely.
