Orcas Howle.... This young woman sitting here next to me, first I thought she was good looking, maybe for a quick tumble, I really need a woman's touch. I've been traveling with my sister Rena for weeks looking for the man that killed Serena, my mate. We got word he was in America, but that was a red herring so they say. I'm so tired, I just want to go home and lick my wounds. Rena came with me out of loyalty to me, but she found it futile when she thought I could just replace Serena like a pair of fresh socks or something. I actually loved my mate, I think. I mean we barely met when she was ripped away from me by that despicable Moore coven, but I did feel an instant connection to her. We were planning our wedding. I disliked the Moores before, but I hate them all now. I had gone to university with Kent Moore. When Kent was murdered, all eyes shifted to me. Not fair, they accused me by my clan association only. So...was it relatiation when Serena died mysteriously. Thus our feud started, full force. The killing of my mate is unacceptable. Why involve innocent women? Even if she was slated to be mine, why kill her. She was a harmless pup, only 18 years old. I stared at this red headed girl sleeping next to me. She is human, but she has something...like a certain scent that has done something to my nose. I felt my nose wrinkle, it is a very delicate nose. I know I could follow her. Try to see if she does have the key to the old family jewels, it's become folk lore by now. My family crest and royal insignias were stolen centuries ago. The only thing most of us remember is that ruby encrusted key. I looked at Kennedy again. She is an innocent, Rena is right. She has a certain virginal smell. My ancestors would have avoided hunting one like this, she is an innocent, I told myself once again. We have always kept an alliance with the mortals, it is our code of conduct in this world that we live in. I pet her hair, I had to touch it. It was silky, red with big thick curls. She's so cute. Rena frowned at me and shook her curly hair, she knew I wanted her, I liked stray kittens. I decided I could take her as my own, once I found out if she was going to be missed or not. Don't want any trouble from the American's right now. The CIA has been harassing some clan members who have mingled with Americans abroad. Rena might want a piece of her after I am done satisfying this lust I have for her, if she doesn't find her own sustenance. I played with her hair for a while. She is a pretty little thing. Weird that I sense no fear from her, no unease. She makes me feel calm. I started to get emotionally vested when she cried at the loss of her mother. Hmm..I think she will be a very good dalliance for me. I haven't had to hunt for a long time. I seem to be able to charm women right into my bed, then my dark passions take over and, well.... I pulled her closer and realized that my heart and her heart were in unison. I listened to the beating, like a slow drum. Yes, she is definately coming with me to my home. Rena scratched my arm. " Not this human, I smell something, maybe like death. It's near her. Maybe in her suitcase." she lifted her head and sniffed. I didn't smell anything but spices, and...maybe sweetness. Yes she was going to be very good. ********* The plane finally landed. Kennedy leaned back and stretched upwards. I saw her flat stomach as she stretched. I wanted to touch her there and other places, dark intimate places.... " I think that was the best sleep that I've had in years." She said as she smiled at me. " You are a good sleeper Ken." I wanted her to be comfortable with me before I brought her to my home, so I gave her a pet name. I thought she was naive, until she took her bag down and handed it to me to hold. Did she even know what that smell did to me, it was definately death. I wanted to throw up. It was decrepit. It made me hold my perfect nose. Rena did too. I shook my head trying to rid myself from that stench. Kennedy wasn't as naive as she looked. She must have figured out that we were Lycan somehow. We were both so sick that we waited for her to totally get off the plane before we departed. Rena looked at me," Told you so." I shrugged. Kennedy wasn't worth the effort. There were so many others that were available. I watched her out the window. Then I saw something flash in the light of the shining sun. She was holding a key in her hand, it was gold with a ruby in the fob. I smiled. She was very smart too. I looked at Rena. "That kid outsmarted us." I was hard as a rock now, thinking about taking her to my bed. I grabbed my bag and quickly went after her. Rena was nearly panting now. We both loved the thrill of the hunt. ********* Kennedy I finally got away from those two strange people. Orcas was way too intense, then the reaction when I just asked him to hold my bag. What a baby. I pulled the key out of my pocket, I wondered why it was so compelling to me to look at it. I'm like a crow with a Shiney object. I stopped for a moment inside one of those privacy booths. I promised dad I would call. I unzipped my bag, grandma's ashes were still intact in the urn that I chose for her. It was gold and silver. The top was secured by screwing it down, so it went smoothly, thank goodness. I called daddy." Hey dad, I landed. I'm taking a taxi to my hotel tonight and will pick up again tomorrow." " Kennedy, remember what I taught you. Be wary of strangers, don't go out at night, as soon as you can, buy a weapon. Maybe pepperspray, or something." I nodded. "Daddy, I am so tired that I will go straight to my bed and,"....I yawned..."I will soak in a claw foot tub and eat a bag of chips." " Call me when you get up tomorrow, I need updates, allright?" My dad is my biggest supporter. He just lost my mom, my grandma and now me. I felt kind of bad that I up and left him, but it's what he told me to do. I left the privacy room and looked for signs for the taxis. I didn't check any bags, I figure I will buy whatever I need here. I yawned again. I was famished too. I thought I saw those tall weirdos from the plane ahead of me now. They were almost running through the throngs of people. I stayed back avoiding them both. I just had a bad feeling about those two. When I saw them get into the elevator, I took the stairs. I slowly trudged down to the street. I made it outside. I hailed a taxi and threw my bag inside. As we drove off, I saw Orcas looking around, he had his nose in the air, he looked anxious. He seemed to lock eyes with me briefly as I rode past him. I slunk down in my seat. He didn't see me, did he? I mean the windows were dark. The back window was cracked a tiny bit, but he couldn't possibly see me. I shivered. I felt a bit like a rabbit being chased by a hound dog.
