I grit my teeth as I read another thought from another wolf. -'Lancaster, she looks ready to be eaten, in more ways than one,'- but I do my best to stay calm and focus on her completely.
It is not easy to shut down all the voices and whispers. I have to stay alert, I can't let my guard down. I have to protect her but at the same time, I don't know who to trust in this country anymore.
“I am so full, but I would hate to waste this opportunity to try some of their desserts. Are you ordering one?" She asks and I smile at her.
“Why don't you pick one and we share it? I don't feel like eating something all by myself," I tell her and she nods.
“I am glad you suggest that, because I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to finish mine," she says and laughs softly.
