In The Light of Destiny

Kira and Lia are sitting in the living room watching T.V. when their other room mate Emma walks in from her long day. See we are all struggling actresses living in an all girls dorm with other girls who are also trying to become actresses, models and anything else that has to do with entertainment .  “Hey, any luck today, Emma?” asked Kira. “No, I went to 15 places today. Everyone was out or at meetings. This search is getting on my nerves. I have been to every entertainment agency in town, and I always get the same answer: the producers are in meetings, out to lunch, or there are no auditions available.” she says. “I get the same answers.” said Lia “Why is this so hard?” Flopping down on a chair in the corner. “It is hard because the passion we have for this won't let us give up.” says Emma. Lia sighs “I guess so, I am just ready for my star to shine. So I can get paid.” Rubbing her hands together. Kira and Emma laugh. Emma shakes her head “What happened to passion?” “I still have passion, just ready to get paid.” says Lia. “Kira, what company are you hoping to sign with?” Kira shrugs “I really do not care. As long as it is not a porn company I will sign with anyone. You two have been trying to be signed for a year. I have been trying for four years. When I do get signed it will be worth all the struggle.” “I understand, Kira” says Emma “You will be a star soon. All the struggle and hard work will be worth it.” Lia chuckles lightly “You intend to struggle, sore feet all day and waiting in lobbies? Just so the staff can tell  you they are in meetings after waiting for hours?” “If that is what I need to do.” Emma narrowed her eyes on her. “It doesn’t seem right, why does this have to be so hard? There has to be an easier way to get noticed.” she said. “There is one way.” Kira says, raising her eyebrow. “No thank you, I haven't given up yet.” Lias states Emma gets up from the couch. “Well I am hungry, let's all go get something to eat, my treat.” They walk down the side street to the bar at the corner. “Kira, you said you will give up in a few more months, what will you do if it doesn’t work out and you don’t sign with anyone?” ask Lia. Whispering “I don’t know. But I would rather die than return to my old life.” After they finished eating and drinking a few beers. They headed back to their dorm room. Back in the dorm room Kira and Emma head to their room. Lia's phone rings while she is in the living room. “Hello” She answers.
