Chapter 2 The warm touch of the sun felt wrong, yet welcoming on his wary frame. Normally, flights were just another part of his day. Usually, they took him to exotic locales. As he stood on the cracked sidewalk that led to the front door of his uncle’s old farmhouse, a bevy of emotions welled up inside of him. Matthew hefted his bag, letting his gaze roam over the exterior. Aside from a fresh coat of pale blue paint, it was like stepping back in time, traveling back to a year ago when he last visited.
