I was distracted for the duration of my shift as I couldn’t stop thinking about where Jared was and what he was doing. As much as I wanted to stop him from hanging out with Drix and his friends (which included Mariah), he’s new in school and in town, and I can’t really stop him from making friends. Besides, I didn’t want to act like a jealous girlfriend, although I can’t help but be jealous. What Mariah said kept ringing in my head.
