“Congratulations! We’re so proud of you!”
“Thanks, Mom.” It was our graduation day. My dads and mom caught me in a group hug. The program had only finished and everyone was everywhere inside the hall. Parents were meeting their child and teachers congratulating everyone they passed by. In about fifteen minutes, everyone would be ushered to the dining hall, where a luncheon was prepared for the celebration. “Thanks, Dads,” I replied when they mumbled their greetings when they kissed my head. It was a bit suffocating as my dads squeezed us tight. “I know you are happy to see me graduate, but you can stop squeezing me now. Please. I. Can’t. Breathe.” We all laughed as both of them released us.
