Sam POV “Thanks, Dad,” I said in almost a whisper. It was unbelievable that after so many years, I was finally back in the house I grew up in. Nothing changed except for a few electronic appliances. The furniture was still the same, with a few added photos on the mantel. The house had been repainted with the same white and blue tones. Dad wouldn’t admit it to me, but he did prepare for my visit. He had been hounding me for a long time. It was supposed to be him to visit me at my place, but he had training schedules that he could not get off since the trainee was only home for spring break. I obliged at the last minute as Dad had been nagging and pulling off nagging-mom lines. He meant them as a joke, but it rubbed off on me differently. It was as if Mom came alive and possessed him. F
