It’s as if a pre-school has thrown up in here. Up until now, I had never stepped foot into a shrink’s office, so I had no idea what to expect with my first session with Dr. Barnes but what I get is not what I imagined. First of all, Dr. Barnes is a tiny woman. She can’t be anything over five foot with crazy curly hair piled on top of her head and wide eyes. Other than her stature, everything else about her seems to be miniature – and I’m not a tall girl myself but I can even see that everything in this room seems to be exactly the right height for her. Her desk chair is small, even the certificates than hang on the wall are lined to match her height rather than the placement of the wall. Every other wall is filled with color.
