Sophia
I tried to hide how hungry I was, especially from the two little girls who were so excited to see me it brought tears to my eyes.
They had obviously missed me and I had them as well. Their very presence was going to make living with Dimitri more palatable.
But it didn’t matter how much I tried to hide it . By the time I could see the lights of New York City twinkling beneath us , my stomachs was growling so loudly that the pilot could no doubt hear it.
The entire flight back Dimitri hasn’t said a word. Not even we sat opposite each other playing cards with the girls. Sometimes he spoke for me, like I didn’t have a voice of my own. But he didn’t speak for me.
“Hungry Sophia?” His eyes glinted with malice as he stared across the aisle at me.
“I’m fine.” My stomach decided at that moment to make a loud gargling sound again.
He threw his head back and laughed. “You are a stubborn woman. But I like stubborn. Why don’t you come here .” He patted his knee like he had back in Russia.
It was crazy. I had been to Russia and all I had seen was a few streets out of windows and the inside of a hotel room. I wasn’t well travelled. I would have liked to have seen more. Explored.
“We are about to land.” I was glad I had an excuse because I didn’t want to sit on his lap. I didn’t want to give him that power over me.
I would rather starve to death.
“Are you afraid Sophia?”
I shook my head, “I am not afraid of you Dimitri.”
His icy eyes narrowed. “Then you are a fool. Come and stop being stubborn wife. Let me feed and look after you. As a husband should.”
There was something in the way he said it. He wasn’t wanting to look after my needs. He was wanting to satiate his own needs.
“You mean you want to have sex.” My voice was low and flat. My eyes darting to the two sleeping girls. “You want to f**k with your daughters right here.”
Anger flowed across his face. It went from classically handsome to grotesque in a blink of an eye. “Don’t use such vulgarity in front of me. Any wife of mine will not use such words.”
I swallowed hard.
I had never been afraid of him before, wary yes but not afraid. But at that moment I was. I lowered my eyes. Fixing them on the clasped hands in my lap.
“That’s better.” He seemed pleased with my sudden demure behaviour. “Maybe there is hope for you after all.”
“This is your room.” Stepping back Dimitri let me stumble into the room. It was bathed in shadows. Only lit up by several lamps dogged around.
I had seen this room many times but I had never expected him to give it to me. It was too grand, too over the top. The room of a princess and not the bastard daughter of a man who was no one at all.
“You will find everything you need.” He made a move to close the door behind him.
“You won’t be sleeping here?” I hated the uncertainty in my voice.
“Are you asking me to share your bed wife?” The way he said it was mocking.
“No. I just want to know.”
“I am going to tuck my daughters into bed. And then….” His eyes scanned down my rumpled form. “I will not be sharing your bed until you learn to behave yourself Sophia. You will learn how great life as my wife could be if you just followed my rules.”
“All of this because I would not let you play with my p***y as I eat?” My voice was rising and I made a conscious effort to lower itZ
He was infuriating. “ I am not a thing Dimitri. I am not a belonging. I have thoughts and feelings of my own. I do not belong to you.”
One second he was in the doorway and the next he was right in front of me. One hand curling around my throat. The other roughly cupping my mound. There was absolutely nothing gentle about him as he rubbed his hand against me.
And it turned me on.
God help me, it turned me on.
“That’s where you are wrong Sophia, you do belong to me. Your heart, your body.” He ground the heel of his hand against me. “This p***y all belong to me.”
In answer I moaned. It ripped from my lips uncontrollably. And I hated myself for being turned on. What kind of woman did that make me? A sick twisted one that’s what.
“See you want me to dominate you. Your body craves it.” His lips hovered over mine. “Or is it just me you crave? Did you have some silly girly notion that you could tame me Sophia? That I would be the kind of man who would make love to you. Treasure and worship you? I am not the soft fool your brother is.”
My slap took him by surprise. Palm stinging, I let my hand drop to my side. “My brother is a better man than you. A million times better.”
Slowly he raised his chin. His fingers rubbing over his reddened cheek. “And his wife is much nicer to look at. Did you know it was her I pictured when I f****d YOU Sophia. But then you always knew she was my first choice. She knows how to be a f*****g lady.”
His words ripped into me. Tears sprang up. “This marriage isn’t going to work.” Turning away I stepped towards the bed. I was hungry and tired and I didn’t want to fight with him anymore. Because I knew I would lose. His words had already hit home though. I couldn’t stop the tears from falling from my eyes.
“You signed a contract Sophia. You are mine until you conceive a child.”
My shoulders slumped. “Fine then let’s get this over with.” With trembling fingers I started to unbutton my blouse.
Dimitri laughed. A low sarcastic sound. And it was that sound that stopped me.
“Oh dear wife. I wouldn’t touch you tonight even if you begged me. You could play with yourself and offer to suck my d**k and I would tell you no, and go and think about the beautiful Lily.” He licked his lips. “Maybe I will even pay her a visit.”
“Stefano will kill you.” I knew he was saying it to hurt me. And god it was working.
He shrugged. “Either way I would rather touch myself and think of her or any other woman that be with you tonight.”
“How am I meant to give you a child if you don’t….”
He didn’t let me finish. “You learn to behave like the wife I need Sophia. Or you are going to find your life here a long and miserable one.” Without another word he turned and walked out of the door. “I will expect you down for breakfast at seven am. Make sure you are dressed appropriately.
