Sophia Waking Nicky up went much smoother than I expected. Of course, I had only seen people wake up from medically induced comas on the television. When Nicky opened his eyes, he blinked once and then asked for something to eat. It was such a normal thing for him to say that I laughed before I could help myself. Gathering his small frame into my arms I hugged him close and behind me, positioned in a chair by the door, my brother laughed. I didn’t turn to him; I couldn’t look anywhere but at my son.
