Chapter 4Thursday
When Jamie came into work on Thursday, Brian and Jim were waiting for him. “You guys were terrific last night,” Jamie said as soon as he saw them.
Jim shrugged. “I was adequate, Brian was terrific. I can’t take the pain Brian can take and that’s a fact. You told Bull you were going to the Shore clubs tonight.” Brian tapped his foot on the floor.
“Yeah, so…I can’t go anywhere else because I work here. No one here wants me. I want someone in my life. There is probably a perfectly good man who goes to the Shore clubs because he can’t afford to pay to come here. I’m not a gold digging twink. I don’t need any man’s money. I just need someone to care about who cares about me.”
