“Come on, Pumpkin,” Scarlet said as she hit his face several times, and Ash groaned something.
His head was pounding, his vision hazy. He knew he was tied up to something; he could feel the rope burning into his wrists and ankles. The numbness in his torso and the heat deep within, as if someone was injecting him with fire.
They had him drugged. That much he knew.
He could see Scarlet’s mouth moving, although he couldn’t quite hear her due to the loud ringing in his ears. He tried to shake his head to help it disappear, but it worsened the headache. So, he tried to say something to help him focus on his voice.
