Chapter Forty Seven - Announcement

2397 Words
Crystal Raine Meadows A few days have passed after that training. Since there were no classes after the exams, Calyx and I trained together whenever we had free time. We're both waiting for the results since we're still wagering on whether I or he received the highest grades on the examination. The one who wins will get a wish. If I did win, I don’t know what wish I’ll ask of him, it’s a difficult task for someone like Calyx. I’m sure he’s not used to this, so I’m still confused why he agreed with me. Jenny and my group of friends we’re just busy bonding with the student council in the library while I’m stuck with this guy. Not that I’m complaining though, Calyx just doesn't want to waste time so that he trains me whenever we both have the time. What happened at our last training can’t seem to slip off my mind as I always try to stare at him whenever I get the chance. He noticed it but didn’t bother to ask why. I just couldn’t help but stare at him, plus I have a lot of questions that I want for him to answer but I’m too terrified to ask him those. Everyone was now busy most especially the Leaders because they’re all preparing for the field trip that will be upheld tomorrow. They’re also going to announce where we are going. “Woman, you’re pacing out again,” I flinched after hearing Calyx on my side, we’re both currently training at the special room that the Leaders provided for us. “I-I’m sorry, I’m just thinking about where the field trip will be held,” I admitted while swinging my sword again while running on a field he prepared for me inside that room. There’s a machine here that helps me train with my sword and footwork. The Leaders created this thing for some special students. “That’s easy to guess, we’re visiting all the Districts for three days,” he informed while wiping his sword with a clean cloth. I stared at him for a moment before tilting my head, “How did you know that? Did Mrs. Hailey tell you?” I curiously asked, but he just shook my head at me.  If there’s one thing that I like ever since we started training together, it's that he’s starting to talk a lot. But he only does that when we’re alone inside of the special training room, or when we’re both inside of the enchanted forest, which is truly weird. “It’s just easy to guess what adults we’re planning, I’ve also known the Leaders for so long so I knew how they think,” he claimed. “I see,” I blew some air out of my mouth before deciding to finish the track he prepared at the machine right in front of me. The bell rang, so we both stopped and looked from the outside, “Clean up, we’re going at that stupid meeting,” he coldly said while fixing up his things. My hands reached out towards my chest and held it intently, it’s always pounding whenever I'm alone or talking to this blizzard guy. It didn’t take us both a while to get ready as we both went out of that room to go to the arena, that’s where the meeting will be held. Walking with Calyx on the hallways was always so nerve-wracking, eyes couldn’t be seen not looking at us, or rather him. I mean, who wouldn’t look at him? He’s like a walking disaster, but a disaster that you wouldn’t miss looking at because he’s just too attractive. Just standing right beside him makes me stand out like a sore thumb. His loose buttons on his polo and rolled up sleeves on his elbows doubled up the appeal that he has, his red glinting eyes looked so manly and so as his lustrous tousled hazelnut hair. I almost gasped at what I was thinking, that was too freaking embarrassing! How could I think of something like that? Shaking my head, I just continued walking beside him in the hallways until I saw our friends waiting outside of the cafeteria. “Crys! We were just waiting for you!” Jenny ran towards me to hug me, so I just hugged her back. Someone coughed beside us, so Jenny looked at him. “Oh and of course, we’re waiting for you too, Calyx,” Jenny raised her eyebrows before crossing her arms against her chest, “It’s great to know that she hasn’t gained any injuries from your training,” Jenny tried to sound like she’s the boss, but Calyx didn’t mind her. “If she ever gains injuries, ask her what happened, it might be her stupidity that she gained those,” Calyx coldly stated before walking away, so I frowned at him. He’s being mean to me again. “That guy is still a jerk and that will not freaking change,” Jenny sounded like she’s trying to control herself, so I just chuckled and dragged her to the group. We all then started walking towards the arena as we separated ways with the student council since they’re going to be there at the stage for the announcements. Calyx went with them, so I’m stuck with my friends again, “It’s been a while since we four got some alone time together like this,” Liam smiled like he truly misses this. “Shut up dude, you like being with the student council because they play chess a lot,” Rowen complained, so they started arguing with each other. “Rayleigh is fun to be with, so I don’t mind spending time with them, the boys have their businesses like us,” Jenny claimed, which made me agree with her. After we arrived at the arena, the Leaders immediately announced a lot of things after we had all settled down on our chairs. “We will be having our field trip next week and I hope you’ll prepare small bags because we’re providing ferry dragons enough for all of us, two students are allowed for one dragon,” Mr. Light announced, so a lot was complaining. “Silence students!” Mr. Light shouted to pipe down the noises in the crowd, “Though we are requiring students that have finished the final ritual to ride with their mates, there’s no problem with that right?” Mr. Light asked so rumors rose in the air. Some of them are not approved, but some of them are approved. Mr. Light raised his hands while glaring at the students on the stage, “You’re not teenagers anymore to whine, you’re all almost young adults, stop acting like a child,” Mr. Light scolded them, so the students became quiet. “Jenny, have you finished the ritual with Rowen?” I whispered, but she panicked and blushed like there’s something wrong with my question. “W-What? We haven’t done it, okay? I-I’m not ready yet,” she bit her lip, so I tilted my head at her because she looks like a tomato right now. I just shook my head and listened to the rest of the announcement. “Now again, we’ll be traveling to the south first, then east, north, and west, prepare notes because you’ll be learning about the different districts of the Dragon Realm,”  Mr. Light dismissed us and while we’re exiting the arena, a lot of students looked so excited at this trip. “Look, they’re all so excited to see our different districts,” Jenny claimed on my side, so I agreed with her. “Well, who wouldn’t be? It’s like visiting their home,” I smiled, so Jenny just nodded at me. “How about the Diamond District? It’s still recovering, right? Are we still going to go there?” I glanced at Rowen and he just agreed with me. “Yeah, it’s still recovering, but we’re doing much better now thanks to their help, and also the Great Wyrm is always there to lead the construction of new houses,” he informed, so we just nodded at him. I’m so glad to hear that. “So um, are you riding with me, Jenny?” Rowen curiously asked so Jenny stopped for a moment before looking at me intently. “B-But how about Crystal? She and I should ride together,” Jenny bit her lip while playing with her fingers. She was hesitating to ride with me and Rowen, it was visible in her eyes, so I pinched her cheeks. “I’ll be fine, go ahead and ride with Rowen, I’ll ride with Liam if that’s alright with you?” I glanced at Liam who immediately just smiled and nodded at me. “Of course, I’m fine riding with Crystal,” Liam beamed, so I glanced at Jenny with a smile. She still looks worried though. “Are you sure?” she anxiously asked, so I just nodded at her to reassure her. She doesn't have to worry about me, she has to spend time with her mate. “Yeah, silly, I’ll be fine and I can't allow you to babysit me all the time,” I stuck out my tongue to her, so she just shook her head at me. “Well, we have to go home early since we still have to prepare our things, see you guys tomorrow!” Liam bid us goodbye and so Rowen bid us both goodbye, but he ran back to kiss Jenny on the forehead. “See you tomorrow, Jen, and thank you,” Rowen smiled before running away from us. I smirked when I saw Jenny blushing like she’s not used to Rowen doing things like that. “Someone’s embarrassed,” I teased, so Jenny just glared at me as I saw her blushing like a tomato again. “Shut up and let’s just go home,” she pouted, so I just chuckled and waited for her ride to arrive. She left me in the main entrance first while I waited for Flash to arrive, “Who are you waiting for?” I flinched after hearing that cold voice, so I slowly glanced on my side and saw him. “Y-You startled me, jeez,” I clutched to my chest because it was pounding so rapidly, so he just looked at me blankly. “It’s your fault that your senses still suck, I told you to train it well,” he scolded, so I frowned because it’s like we’re training again. “I’m working on it, okay?” I sighed while shaking my head and noticed Flash landed on our front, which made me smile as I gave that sweet dragon some snacks. “Who are you riding with?” he curiously asked, so I stopped for a moment before looking at him intently. "Does it matter who?" I tried answering him the same way he answers me sometimes, but he just glared at me, so I laughed. "I'm messing with you, but I'm riding with Liam," I informed him, he looked bothered for a moment. "Why not ride with your girlfriend?" he sounded pissed, so I furrowed my eyebrows at him. What is his problem? "She's riding with her mate, plus it's only two per dragon right?" I reminded him, but he just cursed underneath his breath before leaving me. I tilted my head at him as he walked away from me, "What the hell is his problem?" I just shrugged and looked at Flash who was just watching us talk a while ago. "Your master is having his tantrums again," I whispered while chuckling to Flash, "Take me home Flash, I still have to prepare my things," I requested, so Flash just roared before waiting for me to mount him and flew. I opened my eyes when I felt that Flash landed on the flat ground. I'm still trying to open my eyes up to the sky, but I have no improvements about that. Flash roared like he was bidding me goodbye as he flew, I ran inside of the Woods residence and greeted the happy family with a great afternoon. Ate Kathy then helped me prepare my things, we're also close to finishing packing some things up because, after this field trip, we'll be moving there to the flower park village. I couldn't help but be excited because imagine being neighbors with the greatest legends of our realm?!   "Okay, towels, extra clothes, personal hygiene kit, survival knife, snacks, notes, and hm, what else?" I counted my things inside of my room and rested for a while. That trip is going to be three days up in the sky, will I be freaking alright? Liam doesn't know that I'm afraid of heights, even Jenny! I just sighed and flinched when I heard someone tapping on my windows. I immediately sprinted over there to check who and what it was, I relaxed when I noticed it was a dove. "A message? From Jenny?" I asked the dove, but it didn't answer me as I received the message that was tied on its feet. My hands caressed the paper before unfolding it to check what's written inside, there's no name on it. "Ride with me tomorrow, we'll train your phobia," I gasped after reading that message, just one look and I knew it came from that blizzard guy. "Why would he train me in the middle of a trip? He's just so dedicated to being a tutor," I scratched the back of my head. Another dove appeared with a message on its feet, so I opened it, "Don't ride with that guy, he might find out and tell it to your friends," I read and was about to walk away when I winced in pain when the dove bit my hand. "Ouch! Why did you bite me?" I looked at the dove and it just tilted its head at me. Is he waiting for my response? I bit my lower lip before grabbing some pen and paper, "I'll write back okay? Just don't bite me," I pouted, so the dove just stared at me. Though Calyx has a point, I can't risk riding with Liam, I don't want anyone else finding out that I'm scared of heights.
