“I think that would spoil my story,” the Count said, “come and see what I have seen for yourself.” “All right, Camilo, and, if there is nobody there, I think we should send for the doctor.” The Count paid no attention to that remark. He drank a little more champagne, then put down his glass. “Are you coming,” he said, “or do you intend to tell me the truth.” “I think you have gone raving mad,” the Marquis replied. “So I will come and see your ghost for myself. If it is a reality, I will then apologise for not informing you of what I did not know.” The Count did not want to spend any more time arguing and so he led the way to the door into the garden.
