Chapter 6: The Greest The Greest lived in a crooked house, a white building constructed especially for his use that followed no pattern discernible to the architects of any race. The building, as far as anyone knew, contained no right angles or circular arcs. The bright white walls were of irregular sizes, some as high as seven stories, joining at odd intersections, seldom even standing upright, but leaning inward or outward and defying gravity through the sheer will of their occupant. There were no windows, because the Greest never looked outside; there were some who theorized that the Greest had no eyes and therefore couldn’t look at all.
