Being in a different room from Mia was emotionally challenging. Now, having to travel away from her felt almost unbearable. Bryn had given us the exact address of our destination, but the journey would take us several days, with the potential for trouble along the way. This meant it could be anywhere from a week to even longer before I could reunite with Mia. During this time, Bryn would keep her wolf dormant, unable to shift, which caused her pain.
The thought of Mia suffering or falling ill pained me deeply. She had been distant all day, perhaps unsure of what to say. When it was time to depart, Bryn handed Flint the car keys, and we set off. Mia buried her head against me briefly before swiftly retreating back into the palace without looking back. I longed to chase after her
