And then it was time for my partners to return home from vacation.
Rob appeared first—literally. He materialized in my living room around nine in the evening. Luckily, Ephram had his nose buried in a book and didn’t see it happen. When he became aware of Rob’s presence, Ephram looked surprised, saying, “I didn’t hear the door open.”
“I’m sneaky,” Rob said with a grin, glancing at me in question.
“Rob, this is Ephram. Ephram, Rob, one of my partners in the gallery.”
“Nice to meet you, Rob,” Ephram said politely.
“You as well, I’m sure.”
“Ephram needed a place to stay for a while,” I explained to Rob before opening the link between the two of us. ::He’s a Fledgling who was abandoned by his Sire.::
::Ah. So you’ve taken over?::
::Yeah. He’s the vampire that Ian saw.::
