Kim didn’t mind one bit letting Steph make the long drive up Lightning Ridge Road to Ivy Gweddon’s house, for more reasons than she wanted to admit even to herself.
The easiest was Steph’s sedan was built for it, with all-wheel drive and what Kim called a grownup engine. The thought of trying to coax her own little car up the mountain with two people inside didn’t sound like anyone’s idea of fun.
Especially two people stuffed entirely silly on Kay’s incredible food.
As it was, Kim was relieved to be able to fall back on the goofy bits of their friendship rather than being mortified every time either of them belched. A shared giggle was so much more fun.
