Steph tried to pick up her half-empty glass of lemonade, but her hands were shaking too badly. A text message from the Seagons followed immediately by a call from Kim shattered every bit of the calm she’d regained in a few minutes of relaxing on her parents’ deck.
And now she had to go marching inside and not only fill them in on what was going on, but also ask if Kim and Jay could join them for dinner.
