Gabriella barely had any memories of the rest of the occasion. Barrett has whisked her away to introduce her to some of his friends before she had a chance to say hello to Ryan. He hadn’t made any moves towards her but she was going to run to him and ask him series of questions if Barrett hadn’t shown up when he did.
She kept looking backwards, at times their eyes met, at times she could barely see him. Her heart was in a turmoil, each time she did not see him, her heart pounded hoping he hadn’t run away again. Gabriella endured all the while, waiting for an opportunity to talk to him.
It was time for the couples dance. The final dance before the occasion came to an end. Maybe after the dance she would have a chance to talk to him.
She took Barrett’s hands as he led her to the dance
