And just like that, they were gone. I was left staring wide eyed into the distance. Cold night wind blew, sending a chill to my sweaty face. The fleeting sense of triumph that I felt earlier vanished along with the disappearance of the Vermont Coven. Realizing I missed my shot at taking back my wolf, I fell on my knees to the ground.
