(A year later)
It's been a year since papa died and today was his 1st death anniversary.
I stood in front of his and mama's grave tightly holding on to the red roses.
"Papa, Mama I hope you are doing well," I said putting down the flowers on their grave. I wiped my tears before walking back to the packhouse.
But half way through, I heard a loud horn blow. My eyes widened in the realization of what it was. The pack’s under attack! I ran as fast as I could to the packhouse but was stopped midway by a brown wolf. The wolf was an average sized warrior but his eyes were red.
A Rogue.
The rogue bared its teeth at me and went into a fighting stance. My hand slowly slid into my waist and grabbed hold of the silver knife papa gave me.
Suddenly the rogue jumped on top of me and we both fell to the ground. I took my knife before slicing the wolf’s throat. The wolf let out a howl before falling limp on top of me. I struggled a little to get the dead rogue off me.
Once successful I ran to the pack ground but froze at the sight before me. My pack was fighting a losing battle. The rogues outnumbered us. We were losing fast.
I looked to the right when I heard my Alpha howl. He was lying under the Alpha rogue. I watched in horror as the rogue king bit my Alpha's head off.
The Luna's misery howl rose from the packhouse as I fell on my knees. We lost.... all the pack members too fell on their knees knowing it’s the end. I shook my head out of trace and ran to hide behind the bushes.
Night came fast as all my pack members including the women and children were on their knees. Each rogue stood behind each member in their wolf form.
The alpha rogue let out a howl as he stood behind the Luna. The rogues except the Alpha bit my packs’ head off as the bodies fell limp on the floor. I let out a scream at the horrid scene gaining their attention.
The Luna snaped her head at me with wide eyes "Run Maya!!" She shouted before the rogue alpha bit her head off.
I turned and ran as fast as I could. I heard paws hitting the ground not so far behind.
I won't make it! But still, I ran will all my strength. I let out a cry as I tripped from a tree branch.
"Well well well. What do we have here? A non-shifter." The Alpha rogue said kneeling.
"Stay away from me, you fucker," I said spitting at him.
He gave out an angry growl before scratching my face. I let out a cry as I felt a deep stink. The Alpha rogue caught hold of my chin tightly and made me look at him. He smirked before smacking me. I fell to the ground with a thud. He then pulled out a knife and stabbed my stomach.
"Urgh!" I screamed as blood started flowing through my shirt.
"Pathetic weakling." He said before turning to his pack. "Do whatever you want with her but make sure you kill her in the end" he said before walking away.
The hungry wolves turned into their human n***d form while eyeing me with l**t.
"Stay away" I shouted as they chuckled.
"Feisty are we," one of them said as the other hummed. A guy on the left caught hold of my arm and licked my knuckles. I tried to pry my hands away from him but he was too strong. The next thing I know I was pinned down on the ground while hands started roaming through my body.
"No! No!" I started shouting and struggling but it was all in vain. My body started heating up suddenly and I felt myself shaking. Letting out a scream I pushed all the rogues away from me. I panted and screamed as my body burned and ached.
The next thing I know I was looking down at white paws. My eyes widened in realization.
I shifted!?
I looked up to see the rogues with wide eyes.
‘Let's finish them’ a voice I'm guessing of my wolf came to my mind. I nodded before lashing at the rogues.
My wolf and I worked in sync as we dodged, attack and bit until I was the only one standing.
I panted hard looking at the dead rogues.
‘I'm so sorry I didn't come earlier,’ my wolf said.
‘It's ok. What matters is that you are here with me’ I said as I felt her smile.
‘My name is Loreal. But you can call me Lo’ she said.
’Maya,’ I said to which she laughed and said ‘I know’.
But before the conversation could go any further, we were quickly alerted by the sound of many paws.
‘They are coming,’ I said.
‘Let's go. I know a safe place. Give me full control and take rest. You need it’ Lo said as I nodded and gave her full power before slipping into oblivion.

'Maya. Maya,wake up. We have reached' my wolf, Lo said waking me up from my sleep.
'Where are we?' I mumbled.
'See for yourself' she said before she gave me control.
I looked around only to find us stranded in the woods.
What the hell?! Where am I?
My head swiftly turned to my side as I heard the sound of paws running towards me. Within seconds, 5 werewolves surrounded me. They barred their teeth at me making me growl back at them.
My heart was beating fast and I was scared as s**t. But I won't show them, I won't show anyone my weakness. I crouched in attack position as they did the same.
One of them ran and tried to attack me but I swiftly moved to the right. I faltered a little since I have never fought in the wolf form but I still was able to keep my ground.
The wolf once again attacked me and this time he bit my hind leg making me howl in pain. I turned and bit him in the neck before kicking him with my injured leg.
Shit! That hurt like a b***h.
I shook my head trying to clear my head as I attacked another wolf on my left. The wolf hit the tree by force and let out a whimper. I looked to my left and saw another one of the wolf was mind linking. That's when it hit me.
Shit! I'm attacking a pack?!
I backed down and showed my head in immediate submission. I'm screwed if I get in the Alpha's or the Beta's bad side.
The wolves surround me again, some of them hopping due to the injury and I couldn't help but smirk at it.
The wolves turned into well-toned n***d men making me squeal and cover my eyes with my paw.
"You can look now, rogue," one of the men said a few moments later.
All of them were buff and they glared at me with fury.
"What are you doing on our land? You don't smell rogue" a dark brown hair guy said making me tilt my head.
"Urgh. Shift wolf" another said taking a step forward. I suddenly went to defense stance barring my teeth at him.
"Calm down. We won't do anything," he said before turning to his teammates.
"Did you link the beta, Kevin?" the guy asked making 'Kevin' nod.
"He said he will be here in a minute," Kevin said and they all turned to look at me.
Minutes past and suddenly a very desirable smell of wood and pine filled the air. I stood up and looked around trying to find the source of the smell.
'He's here' my wolf purred making me confuse.
'Who?' I asked her but she gave no response.
The scent was getting stronger. A few seconds passed and a very sexy looking man with silver eyes came into the view.
He stared into my eyes with utter confusion. My wolf on the other hand kept dancing and jumping giving me a headache.
'Mate!' she shouted.
Wait. Mate? I have a wolf and mate?!
"Loreal?" he said making me tilt my head in confusion.
Did he just say my wolf's name?
I turned into my human form and stared at his beautiful grey eyes. I could only mutter one thing that came into my head
"Mate".
