(Maya POV)
"s**t" I groaned as I rubbed my aching head. I got out of the bed and made my way to the bathroom.
I cringed looking at my image in the mirror. My hair was messy like a bird's nest and my eyes looked sunken with dark circles.
I look dead.
Deciding on taking a bath I striped myself. After filling the tub I dipped myself into the water. Sighing at the warmth I closed my eyes. Sudden flashbacks of the previous nights flashed through my mind making my heart beat fast. Heat made way to my cheeks as I remembered our intense moment.
"Eeee!!!" I screeched covering my blushed face.
He kissed me. He actually kissed me and this time he didn't run away. Maybe he is starting to warm up to me. Maybe I do have a chance with him.
I felt myself in comfort and slowly I slipped into a dreamless sleep.
I don't know for how long I slept but by the time I opened my eyes the water was very cold. I got out and then dressed before making my way to the dining room.
Entering the room my eyes immediately made contact with my mate's. An involuntary blush made way to my face as I sat on the chair next to him.
"Good morning" he said void.
"Good morning" I mumbled before collecting my breakfast.
I started eating as my eyes roamed through the dining room. There were lesser people in the room than usual. My eyes settled on a familiar blonde who grinned at me.
"Hey" I said waving to him.
"Hey May. All sobered up?" Edward asked as I nodded laughing.
"Yea. I'm sorry if I gave you a tough time" I said as he shook his head.
"Tough it was. But you were amusing to watch. I really enjoyed it" he laughed as I heard a growl from beside me.
I turned and looked at Vince as he glared at Edward. His breathing was ragged and the spoon in his hand was nearly bent.
"Vince" I called as his beautiful grey eyes met mine.
"Yes?" he asked yet again void.
"We need to talk" I said making him let out a sigh.
"I know but not now. I am a bit busy" he said and this time I let out a sigh.
The rest of the time was spent with us silently eating our food. Vince after finishing his food washed his plate and walked out giving me a quick nod.
I let out a sigh as I looked at my plate. At least he acknowledged me before walking out. I mean all other time he just walks out without even giving me a glance.
I guess its a little progress.
"He is like that" a familiar voice came from behind.
"Hey Edward" I said as he sat in the stool next to me.
"You done eating?" he asked as he saw me push my half eaten pancake away.
"Yea. I'm done." I said as he looked at me with one of his eyebrow raised.
"Not really hungry" I continued giving him a small smile.
"Maya. If I ask you something, would you tell me the truth" he asked as I looked at him. His face was now very serious with no sign of his usual goofy look.
"What is it?" I asked confused.
"Is Vince your mate?" he asked as I looked at him in shock.
"Why would you a-ask that" I stuttered looking at him with wide eyes.
"Well for one he was very possessive over you at the club yesterday. He looked ready to tear me apart. I have never seen him this possessive except with Lo. And second I heard the people say that the beta got a second chance mate and that she is a white haired rogue girl with light freckles. And the only one fit to the description is you" he said as I let out a shaky breath.
"Yea..." I mumbled looking down at my hands. "He is my mate" I said letting out an involuntary sob.
"Maya" he said as he lifted my face by the chin. He looked into my teary eyes with nothing but sympathy.
"Maya... I'm sure you know about his tragic life. He went through a lot." he said as I nodded slowly. "Give him time. He will definitely come around. Yesterday was a big proof itself. His possessiveness proved his liking for you. And I will be happy to help him realize his love for you sooner" he said grinning.
"How?" I asked confused.
"I am an amazing actor. He already hates me for being close to you. I can make him jealous" he said as I looked at him weirdly.
"Do you really think it will work" I asked curiously.
"It will most definitely work. I mean yea it’s a huge risk. But I'm willing to take it for your happiness" he said looking at me with an unreadable expression.
"Edward..." I said confused as to what I should say. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have such an amazing friend.
A huge smile broke out in my face.
"Thank you so much!"I asked as he nodded and laugh.
"You're welcome beautiful. Anyway I have to go. We have a lot to prepare" he said standing up.
"Prepare for what?" i asked confused.
"Didn't you here? The Alpha and Luna are coming back after their visit to the sorcerer's dimension" he said making my eyes widen.
