7. Party Crashers

2265 Words
Dustins POV            I can tell by the looks Anna and Sally are giving me, that I’m going to receive some major hell for pulling this stunt off, but honestly, you can’t tell someone to not crash your party.  That’s just begging for it.  Right after they told me that, I sent out a group text to Brian, Cole, and Harrison, telling them that we’re crashing ladies night and to bring some friends.  I honestly thought it was just going to be us three, but Cole and Harris brought in a crowd. We had at least 20 people from school and I couldn’t have been more happy… until Clara and her non related sisters showed up. But of course what was I thinking?  They are basically Harris’ groupie.  “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?” Sally screams as she gets into my face.  Gesturing with my arms to the whole room, I sigh dramatically.   “Apparently having a kick ass almost school year end party.”  Her face becomes as red as her hair and stabs a finger in my chest. “You need to leave, like now!” “Take a look around doll, seems like your girlfriends don’t mind at all.” She turns around and sees that even her best friend Anna has betrayed her by gawking on guys, twirling her hair.  It’s cute really.  Jessie and Cole seem to already claim the corner couch for making out.  And the twins are surrounded by guys as well.  Sally huffs out a disappointed sigh.  She glares back at me “I hate you. HATE!”  She turns around and storms off as I stand there chuckling.  Harris and a few of his circle buddies started playing on the Xbox,  a few other people get some music started, and I see Brighton coming up to me smiling. “Well.... you just couldn’t help yourself could you?” “You know me chicka, gotta do what I’m told not to do,” I say as I prop my arm across her shoulders. “Sally wants to kill you... like in a realistic way” “Ah yes, she might, but once she starts having fun all will be forgiven.  Now, what should we do? Sit down and people watch, dance, join in on video games, or food?” “Hmm, lets people watch the group that’s playing video games until it gets boring…. So like 10 minutes?” We both laugh out and join that group.  I sit next to Brighton and look around at the party.  I see Brian getting himself a drink and staring in our direction.  He’s the real reason I started this party crashing sham.  When Anna told him he was a good guy and wouldn’t do this sort of thing, it put him in the dumps.  He also has a thing for Brighton, so it’s a good time for him to get to know her more.  I gesture him to come over because you can’t get to know a person without talking to them. Brighton and I are best friends. I love that girl as my own sister.  We come from similar backgrounds and we just understand each other.  She never really mentions about wanting a boyfriend, but Brian is a good guy, so I’m just giving him a push.  The rest is up to him.  However, I did tell her mom about this possibly turning out to be a pool party.  That woman apparently wants her daughter to get a boyfriend because, not only did she buy a swim suit, she bought her a bikini… Brighton would kill me if she knew I encouraged her mom.  It’ll definitely throw Brian for a loop.  We are all sitting and chatting and it’s becoming apparent that most of the people here have segregated into either make out, video game, or dancing cliques.   i get bored easily, so I announce “I thought this was a pool party!? Lets get to it!” To make my point clear enough, I go over to stop the music, signaling to the guys “Lets set this outside.... Ladies,” me turning to the group and taking a bow, “please escort your lovely bodies to get changed.”  The whole room fills with snickers. “Gents, let’s go set up outside—who wants to grill?” “Why don’t you blow up some floaties with all that hot air you got going on huh?” Sally yells from across the room.  I decide to ignore her outburst and give her a heart symbol with my hands.  She stalks off to change. Cole is helping set up the speakers while I, Brian, Harris, and some of his other buddies are hanging out by the grill.  I don’t know the others, but I know Harris is good friends with Brighton.  She told me about one time he got her lunch and how mad he got with her lying to him.  She so prideful and hates handouts from anyone, but I'm glad he was able to use some of that alpha influence on her.  She’s learned a little with me about give and take, and she’s even to the point where she’ll finally eat some food from my house.  Trust me, that took like a year in the making.   One of Harris guys whistles and we all turn our heads to the doors.  Of course, the first of the ladies to walk out is Clara, Karma and Coral.  They’re not ugly, don’t get me wrong, but they’ve always had a nasty streak, mainly Clara. I don’t see how anyone can ignore that.  They are wearing matching barely there bikinis, trying to make themselves look like Playboy triplets. “Bet Clara is coming straight for you man,” his friend says as he punches him in the shoulder.  “What?..Jealous?” Harris says, laughing it off. I raise my eyebrow at him.  I just had to know. “You really dating her Harris? The queen witch?” He looks taken back before he’s all smiles again. “Dating? No. Having fun? Yea. It’s what expected- alpha son, beta daughter.  Hell, we live on the same floor. She’s hot, what’s not there to like?” “Ummm… decent human traits…. You do know that she poured coke all over Brighton her first day of school, right?”  His face falls for a second.  “And the reason was.... because she wanted to.  Brighton just wanted to wash her hands in the bathroom and she just wanted to be plain mean.  Not to mention how she’s always belittling everyone any chance she gets.  How do you not see that?” I could’ve sworn I heard growling during my rant but I can’t be sure. He also looks a little lost in thoughts until one of his friends said, “Well speaking of Brighton..... hot damn!” We all look over as the rest of the girls come out of the building.  I’m going to have to sneak a picture to her mother, she would be so proud.  Brighton has her head held high smiling with the girls in her olive green bikini.  It matches well with her brown hair and tanned skin.  She’s always been on the thinner side but since the monthly trainings and us hiking together, he body has toned out. I hear a choking sound from my left, which is definitely Brian.  I turn around and see most of the guys eyes have bugged out. It's hilarious.  “Mouths closed gentleman… Don’t want the ladies think you can’t control your wolves,” I say with a smirk. Most of the guys clear their throats, but then one of the random guys makes a huge mistake.  “Give me one hour... just one hour,  and I'll have Brighton on my lap like a good little girl, bearing my mark for all to see.” Before he’s even finished speaking my fists are balled up and ready to strike, but before I move, Harris has already jumped in and punched the guy in the face. Glad to know we were on the same page. Brighton POV            As the girls are changing, I’m definitely feeling self-conscious.  I never show this much skin off around people who aren’t my family.  Wolves are s****l creatures, hell, we get naked all the time… but I’m still a 15yr old girl with insecurities.  I’m also quite reserved when it comes to showing off my body.  After I take my shirt and shorts off, I turn towards the group.  “Wow that bikini is smokin’ Brigh,” Jessie says beaming.  I start to fidget with my towel as I start blushing.  “You really do look good Brighton,” Sally says genuinely.  I look at my girls and they are all beautiful in their own way.  Sally has unruly curly red hair and freckly skin and curves in all the right places.  Anna dresses like s*x on a stick, and Jessie is so toned and has an hourglass shape I would kill for. I look in the mirror at my thin body.  “Stop right there Brighton,” Anna says. She can probably guess what I’m thinking.  “You perfectly beautiful the way you are."  “I’m a stick and uncomfortable.  I barely have boobs and….--.”  “I’ll say.. what type of wolf wants a ribcage and sticks walking on his arm?” Clara so graciously points out.  “Your breasts aren’t even filling out that top honey.  Why don’t you stick to the one pieces from now on hmm?” “You’re such a b***h Clara,” Jessie says, standing next to me. “Yea, and she’s filling out that top just fine. It’s supposed to cover the whole boob, and not just the n****e, did you know?” Anna saunters up on my other side. “Plus, I don’t see Harris chasing your tail around here in that skimpy thing,” Sally says from behind me. “Oh Harris does more than chase honey.  He catches too,” she says with a wink. “Let’s go Clara, before these girls actually try to impress the men,” Karma states.  The three girls leave and Coral glancing back at me.  Ever since that day during training, she doesn’t say much to me, but is more of a sidelines girl.  Anna puts a hand on my shoulder and I turn around, “Don’t listen to them, you really do look amazing.”  I just nod my head.  I know I don’t look pathetic, but I’m nowhere near the level my friends are on. “No you stop that thinking.”  Jessie turns me towards the mirror. “You’re a bad ass she wolf and sexy as heck.  You have perfect boobs for your age and your skin is tanned and toned.  I would kill for your legs any day of the week.”  I really love this girls.  I nod my head and put a smile on.  “Y’all are pretty great.  Thanks for having my back.” “You guys, what do ya say…- positive encouragement shewolf howl?” We all laugh and cringe for Sally’s suggestion, but we do anyways.  Afterwards we have a group hug and its days like this where I know I have true friends. “Thanks you guys.  Let’s go out and have fun!” “Yea!”            We are still laughing and giggling when we get outside.  It’s the end of April so it’s still a little chilly out here, but I know the pool is heated so I can’t wait.  Before we can decide where we want to sit, we hear commotion coming from the grill area.  All I see are a bunch of boys gathered around screaming ‘fight fight!’  Why would people be fighting?  Before we can make it over there, I see Dustin standing in a chair and yelling at the crowd. “Chill people! It was only a one punch and done deal- carry out your business.” With his joking manner aside, I can tell that even he is angry about something.  A couple of Harrison’s friends are dragging a guy I’ve never seen before out to the front of the house.  “Aw baby what happened!”  I hear Clara’s shrieking voice yell.  She runs up to Harris, who’s shaking off his hand like he’s the one to hit the other guy. But why?  When Clara grabs his arm, he shrugs her off and heads inside.  It really looks like she just had her favorite ice cream cone fall to the ground with the pout she’s giving off.  I would love to say I didn’t find amusement in that, but that would be a lie. “That was weird,” Sally says.  Anna comes running towards us. I didn’t even know she left our group. “So apparently that guy made a crude comment about marking a girl and Harris just snapped and punched him straight in the face. How freakin romantic is that?” she gushes out.  The drama is over and people are going back to their business.  I walk up to Dustin who’s manning the grill.  The burgers look so good, I’m practically drooling. “Yes I’ll put double cheese on yours,” he says chuckling at me. I smile at my best friend. “You okay? You look mad.” He pulls me in for a side hug with his arm on my shoulder. “Yea.. just some douchebag being a d**k- if Harris wasn’t going to do it, I was.”  We stand there for a minute.  Brian walks up to us and Dustin drops his arm and puts more meat on the grill.  “H-hey Brighton. You l-look really good.” He’s blushing and its causing me to blush, because I don’t know how to respond to that.  I give him a smile but we both end up looking like idiots smiling at each other.  Next thing I hear is splashing.  I turn around only to get scooped up and thrown into the pool by Cole.  Apparently, him and his warrior buddies thought it was hilarious to throw all the girls in the pool at the same time.  After, they jumped in with us and it turned into a full on splashing fit.
