As it turned out, it was a good thing that I had summoned a shield of light all around me. No one except for Melina and the LaFaye Sisters was able to see the half-vanished soulmate mark on my neck. And if Anya hadn't reacted the way she did and had not needed to be restrained, I was sure that the entire Vermont Coven would have known my secret by now.
It was supposed to be a comforting thought, but I wasn't comforted in the least. I groaned, turning to look at the LaFaye Sisters, to keep myself distracted.
But I couldn't.
Even Ezra and Sabine, who had already known about the mark before, looked shocked at the sight. I felt their eyes piercing through me as if they could read my mind. I wanted to scream but all that came out of my mouth was a strangled whimper.
