[FAST FORWARD] KEVIN's POV "Are you really going to make me a driver? Really?" I asked Nath on the other line. I just got the suit she reserved for me, and I don't really think she'll make me her driver, Jeez. It’s a tuxedo. "Yeah, why are you asking? Is the suit I reserved ugly?" "I mean..." "Ops! You are not allowed to say that. My taste isn't that bad." "Tss. That's not what I meant. I feel like you're going to make me your date. You're not fooling me, are you?" I heard her laugh on the other line. "Hey, relax. I'm not making you my date for the event. Just my driver, but of course, you need something nice to wear that's why. So, go and get dressed. We need to be there in 30 minutes." Then she hangs up the call. "Tss," I shake my head. But I have to wear this suit. — ZAIRA's POV I am done fixing myself and I am putting on my earrings when I heard a knock from outside of my room. "Come in!" I voice out a little loud and the door immediately sprung open. It was Pierre who entered my room. "Hi," I greeted him with a sweet smile. "Hi. You look stunning with that red gown." He said as he walks in my direction. "Thank you. You too. You look dazzling." I replied, glancing at him. "By the way, I haven't chosen shoes for myself yet. Can you help me?" "Sure." "Thank you." "Before that, I have a present for you." "Present?" I turn towards him. "Again? Hmm. What is that?" I asked in enthusiasm. This is not new for me. Pierre always gives me a present. He didn't answer me, instead, he took the necklace that was attached to his neck. He then took one step closer to me and attached the necklace around my neck. This necklace ... His mother gave it to him and I know why he is giving me this. And again, I feel sorry. After he put the necklace around my neck, he faced me and smiled at me. His smile made me feel sorry even more. I like him. And do. But ... I don't know. Pierre cupped my left cheek and he slowly move his face towards mine. I know what he is going to do and I don't want this. I don't want to hurt him. But I don't have a choice right now. He looked at me in the eyes, before he looked onto my lips. When his lips were close to mine, I immediately avoided him. This hurt me. I don't want to hurt him. I have no intention to hurt him. "It's okay. No matter how long it takes, I will wait." He said and I turned towards him. He is smiling at me but I can see the sadness behind his smile. "Pierre..." "It looks good on you. Anyway, where are your shoes? I'll help you choose." He said and was about to turn around but I immediately hugged him. I know I just hurt his feelings and I want to erase that. I don’t want to hurt him. "Please wait a little bit more," I uttered. I know I shouldn't say this but... I have to. "Yes. I will," he replied, hugging me back. "Thank you, Pierre." I slightly moved my body away from hugging him to face him. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me. "So, shall we choose your shoes?" Nodding my head, "um. Let's go." Holding his left hand, I bring him to my dressing room. — KEVIN's POV After I got dressed I left the room. I came back here to the orphanage to get dressed because I can‘t get dressed at home. "It looks like you're going on a date." It was Lady Marry who commented. She walks toward me. I smiled broadly. "How do I look? I am handsome, aren't I?" "Yes. Of course. It suits you very well. You look so handsome." She fixes my necktie. "You grew up a handsome young man. I'm sure Joy also grew up to be a beautiful young woman." Lady Marry sighed. "I wonder how she looks right now. She must be very beautiful." I smiled. "Of course, Lady Marry. She is very beautiful." "You miss her?" I nodded my head. "So much. I really miss her.” I paused and let out a sigh before speaking again. “Do you think, Lady Marry, is there any hope that I will see her again?" "Of course. I always pray that you will see her again, that you two will be together again. Don't lose hope, Kevin. Believe me. You'll find her." "Uhm. I won't lose hope. When the two of us meet again, I promise to protect her, and I won't let us be separated again." "Good to hear that. I will be forever supporting both of you." "Thank you, Lady Marry." "Alright. You should go now. Your friend must be waiting for you." "Yes, Lady Marry. I'll see you again." "Okay. Be safe." "Yes." I give her a short hug before I leave the orphanage. Walking out the gate, my phone suddenly rings. I took it out of my pocket and looked at the screen, checking who was calling. Tss. It was that woman. For sure she is looking for me because she wants me to go with her to the event. But no. I do not want. Tss. I ignored her call and I texted Nath that I am on my way to her condo. — After a couple of minutes, I arrived at the parking lot of her condo building. I got out of the taxi and I was about to send her a message again but the elevator suddenly opened. She came out. "Oh! I knew it. That suit belongs to you." She commented with a wide smile while walking towards me. "Of course. All the clothes fit me." I proudly said and she scoffed. "Don't be too proud. How about me? How do I look with my gown?" She turned around. "Hmm. Just fine." "What?" She raised her eyebrow at me. "Just fine?" I laughed a little. "You look good too." "Tss," "But are you sure you won't make me your date?" "Uh! Don't worry. Just be my driver." "That's good to hear. So, shall we go?" "Yup. Let's go." "Okay." I offered my right arm to her and she put her left hand around my arm. I lead her inside the car. — "By the way, are you still looking for a job?" Nath asked me. We are on our way to the venue. "Yeah. But as usual, I haven't found anything yet." "Because of your mother?" "Yeah. But correction, she's not my mother." I emphasize the word mother. "Whatever. She took care of you anyway. How about being my driver? I'll give you a good salary. What do you think?" I looked at her for a moment from the rearview mirror. "Tss. No thanks. That's not the job I was looking for." "Wow, huh? You’re so picky. I didn't say that would be your job, just for the meantime while there's no one to find." "Why don't you just give me a decent job? I don't want to be a driver. I didn't finish school to be a driver." I smirked. "As much as I wanted to, you know I can’t. Your mother also talked to my mother... Hmm. Sorry." "Hey, it’s okay. I was just kidding." I laughed a little for a few seconds. I feel a little bit bad. I can't force the people around me to hire them because if I do that, they will be ruined. Because that woman... she would really do anything to get me. But I will not give up no matter how hard she gives me. I will never be included in her company. All of a sudden, my phone rang again. It was in my pocket so I ignored it. I already know who is calling me. "Hey, someone is calling you. Won't you answer?" Nath. It's fine. It's not important.” "Okay." — After a couple of minutes, the two of us arrived outside the venue. Unexpectedly, I saw a woman from the black car and it was that woman. I immediately bowed my head when she looked in the direction of Nath's car. "Oh, your mum... Hey, don't worry. You don't have to hide. My car is tinted so she can't see you. Relax." Nath said while laughing a little, and I slowly raised my head. "Ah... Right. I forgot that your car was tinted." She chuckled. "Yeah, so relax. Anyway, I'm going. The event will start soon. You can go anywhere you want to go while the event isn't over yet." "Yeah. Okay. Enjoy the event. Don't tell her we met today." "Don't worry, I won't say anything to her. See you later." "Thanks. See you." Then, she exited the car. I saw her approach, my mother. They greeted each other and both walked inside the building. Before I decided to leave, I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the phone screen. I was right, it was her who called me. Putting my phone on another seat, I was about to start the engine when a Limousine stopped in front of Nath's car. Wow! It looks like they have a special guest today. I'm curious. Who is that special person? A man approached the limousine car and opened the door. Then, a tall guy in a midnight blue tuxedo comes out. From his appearance, he absolutely looks rich. Just then, a woman came out of the car. She's quite tall, and has fair and white skin. I haven't seen her face yet, but she is stunning with her red backless gown that the other women who just also arrived couldn't help but stare at her. She must be gorgeous. I think they are a couple. Well, they look good together. I was about to avert my eyes at them when the woman turned her back around causing me to see her face. And I was stunned when I saw her face. It was as if everyone around me had disappeared and she was the only one I could see. My heart is also beating so fast. This sounds crazy. Why am I feeling this? This is totally crazy! Averting my eyes at her, I shake my head. Get a grip of yourself, Kevin. Anyway, I have to leave this place. I start the engine and drive the car away. Where should I go? —
