Leaving the tree’s calm and warm embrace made me feel the coldness of the air on my skin once again. Gabriel decided to shift into a wolf before making his way to the clothes on the other side of the river. I was walking with my eyes scanning the ground. We stopped before crossing the stream. Gabriel looked at me and didn’t move. “What, am I supposed to go first?” I asked him with my eyebrows raised. He let out a low growl. “Then what am I supposed to do? Ride on you?” I sighed, looking at him. He lied down as if showing me to get on his back for crossing the river. “You can’t be serious, Gabriel. You don’t mean this. No way. How am I... how am I even supposed to ride on you? To get on your back? That’s animal cruelty... but wait, you’re technically not an animal, are you? I’m confused.
