Chapter 7 -phonecall from Tyler

POV

After I rushed out of the office I had Daniel look for Kay, a Uber dropped her off at an orphanage. So I made my way to the orphanage. I got out of the car and searched for her, but I got nothing no one saw or heard from her or Tyler she never went in.

I rushed to her hotel room but she wasn't there either. I dejectedly made my way home. I walked pass the guest room. The room brought back memories of the last time I saw Kay five years ago. We were arguing, she told me Angela threatened her. But I didn't believe her. What made me angry was that she was begging to leave me, when I was starting to fall for her. I didn't mean to kick her, I was embarrassed that she would go down on her knees to beg me to give up on her. I was waiting for the results of Daniels research so I had make her stay until he came back to me. I rushed out of the house as soon as I did that I went for a drive, and went straight to the office. She didn't show up for work that day and I didn't blame her, I was scared to face her so I didn't return home that night either so I slept in my office. And went on with work the next day when I did eventually got home after Daniel had given me proof that she was innocent all this time, I went home to find her only to find divorce papers and no wife, I was devestated. I found out about her suicide attempts, when I found out about how her father forced her to move in with me.

Her father used her past suicide attempts as a way for her to stay with me. When she was 16 her boyfriend died in a car accident and she went into a deep depression, people were starting to make fun of her and judge her, when she disappeared for two months and came back thin and she looked like she was, on drugs.

Everyone including myself assumed she's changed and that she was sleeping around looking for her next fix. I didn't know she tried to commit suicide until after she left when I heard her father speaking to someone on the phone.

It's one of the reasons I will never forgive myself for my part in her running away, my part in my making her life a living hell. I am a terrible human being but I love her and I pray I don't have to live without her.

Five years ago after she left I got sick and all I wanted was to have her with me.

I was near death and all I wanted was to tell her how sorry I was and how much I loved her.

"Son?" my mom says

"Jason?" My father says

I look at my parents.

"Are you okay honey? You've been playing with your food for a half an hour already" mom says

I had my mother's brunette hair. And my father's eyes. I was a perfect mix of my mother and father. I had my dad's blue eyes as well it was a light sea blue.

When Kay and I got married my my mother was so happy to have Kay as a daughter in law. My mother loved Kay she always has. Since we were kids

"Have you thought about finally signing those divorce papers yet?" my mother asks

I look at her, I sigh and look bad at my food, twirling around the fork.

"I think you should sign it she's not coming back, and who says she'll want anything to do with you after she returns?" My father says

"She's back, with my son..." I mumble under my breath looking down at my food

"What did you say?" My sister asks

I shake my head. I wasn't ready for my family to know they're back until I'm happily married to Kay.

"I agree with mom and dad, you've done nothing but insult, hurt and a***e Kay. It's funny how you treated her better when she was gone than you did when she was here." Aria says

I didn't say anything because it was true. Aria was my older sister. She ran her own magazine company she was a successful business woman and she did it all on her own.

"I won't mistreate her if she returns, she'll be treated as a queen, a strong independent woman. I know I treated her badly in the past... But I... " I started to explain when my phone rang.

Its Tyler.

"Tyler?" I answer quickly

"Daddy, a mean uncle is hurting mommy. Daddy please come mommy is crying. Daddy he hit mommy" Tyler cries over the phone

"Tyler where are you and your mother?" I ask jumping up

"The hospital daddy." He says.

I start walking out.

"Tyler I need you to be brave for me can you be brave for daddy? Can you take a picture of your mommy and the mean uncle?" I ask I was basically out of the door already.

I got into the car. Hopefully his GPS is on and I can track his phone. God I hope this works. I know this is a long shot but I had no other choice my son wasn't from here so he had no idea where they were.

"Yes daddy. I will take the picture" he says

"I'm going to be driving now so I have to say goodbye okay? I'll be there soon I promise okay?" I say trying to resure him

"Okay. Daddy promise me you'll save mommy? You have to make quick nuh daddy?" he says

"Yes Tyler I promise to be quick. Just send me the picture and I'll be there." I say

"Okay... Bye daddy" he says

"See you soon Tyler" I say hanging up

I didn't want to say bye it made it sound as if I wasn't going to see him again.

I sat in my car and waited for the picture.

(KNOCK KNOCK) I looked to my right where my sister was knocking on the window of my car. She walked around the car and got in.

"What was that?" She asks

"Kay is back" I say softly

"What? When?" She asks looking at me shocked

"Two days ago, Daniel my assistant saw her at the airport, with my son" I explain

"Did she leave because she was pregnant and she was scared you'd hate her for not aborting your son?" she asks carefully and slowly

"I-I don't know. She didn't say. Honestly we spoke yesterday I asked her to give us another chance and she was going to say yes, but then Angela walked into my office that exact moment and she ran out. I searched everywhere for her but I couldn't find her." I explain

"Why is Angela still in the picture?" she asks looking at me crossing her arms

"I don't know. After I broke up with her five years ago. She's been a bit resistant to us breaking up. But yesterday she crossed the limit. I honestly had no idea she would even show up. I explained it to her when she called me yesterday before work that I could never see her again since I had a family. But she's just not taking no for an answer." I explained

"And the boy?" she asks

"Ah.. Tyler. He is a breath of fresh air you know he's a Casanova at his age, his about four and a half, he has her eyes and hair. But he looks exactly like me." I say smiling.

"Jason..." she begins but my phone dinging cut her off. He sent the pictures.

Awesome his Location was on.

They're at California Hospital Medical Centre.

I turn the car on and start driving my parents don't stay very far from the hospital but it's at least a half an hours drive.

I raced over to the hospital.

Once we got into the hospital we walked straight to the waiting room. I got there just in time. He was about to slap her. Kay was sitting on the floor her hair was a mess and her clothes were disheveled.

"What the hell do you think you doing?!" I shout

Everyone looked my way and looked stunned.

I walked up to my son first and handed him over to Aria.

"Tyler, this is my sister, and your aunt Aria go with Aria, she's going to take you for ice cream okay? Daddy's going to protect your mommy okay?" I say softly to him

He nods. I hug him and kiss him before handing him over to my sister.

I mouth thank you to her. Now to deal with the devil himself.

God I hated this man more than life itself. This man was worse than the devil
