The Confession Forty-Six: Hugo I have just cut Antonio’s shirt away when his hand lands on mine. I look into the boy’s eyes and see all the pain he is holding inside. I have never in my life seen someone so close to death and still stopping me for doing what needs to be done. I lean down towards him as he whispers into my ear. I listen and am surprised by what I hear. Pulling away from him. “I promise but only if you let me do what I need to do to save your life.” I say as my wife Marg puts the oxygen mask over his face. “Are we almost ready?” Marg looks at me nodding her head. “He will be out in a couple of minutes. Then you can start.” Her hand shakes a little while holding the mask over his face. “Save him, Hugo. Please save him.” I look at my wife and the tear that is rolling down
