Seven: The Rat

985 Words
The Rat Seven: Antonio After hearing Ilaria saying that she was married to that sadist Alessio Rossi. I almost went mental inside my Mater’s house. I had to get out of there. I have never had much interaction with Alessio, only with his father. My main boss Giovanni Rossi. It will be hell on earth if Alessio ever takes over his father’s business. However, now that I know who is after my Angels, I know what I have to do. Most likely it will be the last thing I ever do in this life. Just knowing I’m the reason that her mother is dead, and daughter is missing. She will probably hate me when she finds out all the truths of my past. I don’t know what these feelings are that I am having for the mother and daughter, but I have to push those feelings away. I’m a Bodyguard, I don’t get to have a life. I’m a tool to use when needs to be used. Only now I have left my life behind, putting heat on me and now I have three innocents to keep safe. Maybe it is time I put a call into my brother Rosso. He would know what to do and he is the only one out of my brothers that I trust not to take me out and collect the bounty on my life. I hail a cab and as soon as one stops, I hand over an address to him. I sit back and tug my hat down as the cabbie weaves in and out of traffic. It takes fifteen minutes to get where I’m going. I could have walked but I don’t want to draw attention to myself in this part of town. When I step out of the cab I keep to the shadows as now the sun is setting, making getting around easier. As I approach the back door I’m stopped by a brute of a man. I look at him as he puts his hand on my chest stopping me. I look the man dead in his eyes. “No entry here. You need to go around to the front.” I’m seconds away from breaking this guy’s hand before I hear Razor. “Oh sh*t, Teato let him through. That’s the boss’s little brother.” I look over at Razor as he laughs pulling me in by my shoulder until I give him a look. He withdrew his hand and just smiled at me, being the weird person, he is. “Boss is in his office.” I nod my head and make my way up the back stairs to Rosso’s office. When I reach his door I knock once, pause, knock once, pause, knock thrice, and wait. All of a sudden, a woman half naked comes running out as my brother with his pants hanging off his hips without the button done up comes out smiling at me. Wrapping his arm around my shoulders we walk into his office as he closes the door throwing the lock in place. He leads me to a chair and pushes me down into it. I watch as he goes to his drink table pouring us four fingers. Coming back handing me my glass. “When you’re ready.” I drink it all down in one go putting the glass back down. Looking over at my brother as his eyes are wide on me. “I take it you’re in trouble?” I nod my head. “With the family?” I nod my head once more. “You want to tell me about it?” I shake my head at him as he sighs. “You know you can trust me. I would never rat you out for anything, you’re my brother until death and after.” I shake my head once more. I will never put my brother into that kind of situation. I watch him sigh as he looks down at the floor. “What do you need brother?” I lean forward looking at my brother. “Info on Alessio Rossi.” I growl out feeling the burn of my throat ripping and the whiskey burning. “F*ck bro.” I watch as he sits down in his chair. Pulling out a piece of paper I watch him write down a name and address. Handing it to me I nod my head to him. “He is a good rat.” Rosso says as he opens another drawer and throws a wad of hundreds at me along with a wallet that has a new ID and black credit card. I look at him and raise my eyebrows. He shrugs his shoulders. “I always knew this life wasn’t for you. So, I was always prepared for this visit. Just don’t get yourself killed. Alessio Rossi is a sick f*ck.” I nod standing up walking towards his door. “Hey bro.” I look back at him. “Bro, get laid will you. You’re to tense.” I shake my head, as I put my hand on the doorknob I look back at Rosso. “Mater has been compromised.” I grumble as I feel my throat tear as the metallic taste of blood comes up into my mouth. “F*ck, I’ll take care of it. Get going and make sure to stay low and quiet.” I nod my head as I leave the building once more, sticking to the back rooms and shadows. I leave as I go and hail a taxi once more. Once again handing the cabbie the address. I sigh as I rub my eyes quickly leaning back. It is going to be a long night. Oh well, not like I’m not used to being unseen by everyone, except for a pair of bluish green eyes that still seem to be staring right into my soul.
