Delilah and Lillianne... Lillianne turned the radio off, the women took a drive up the route that Bradon would have gone. Delilah spoke with Henry. " We searched all up and down that road. We never found anything. But, I just got the cell records back. I know where his phone pinged last."Henry said. Lillianne said,"Text us the coordinates, we will start there." Delilah drove slowly, she pulled off the road. It was a week since Brandon had disappeared. She called his name. " Brandon!" " Brandon!" No response. They entered the woods. It was very steep. Lillianne decided they needed some long rope. They drove to get supplies. They would search every inch. Henry tried the local police again. "Is there any news, any updates?" He asked. They told him at this point it would just be a recovery, he would most likely be deceased. Henry tried the local hospitals. No one had been brought in recently. Lillianne tied the rope around her waist. She went down sideways. She had to do the searching, Delilah couldn't with her prosthetic leg. " Hey, there is a huge slide mark here. A tree that has large scrape marks. I'm going down there." Delilah called Adam." Hey, Lillianne found something here. Can you put the helicopter up to search this area. We are running out of time here." Adam agreed. " Send me the coordinates." He knew it was a body recovery now. Henry had just informed him. Delilah heard Lillianne scream. " I see something, it's a broken tail light. It's imbeded in the tree. There is glass everywhere." She looked over the cliff ledge. " There is something Shiney down there." She climbed back up. She knew Brandon was dead. She was breathing hard, bent over. Crying softly. "Delilah, I think I see the truck, it went over a cliff." She cried as she held Delilah. Delilah was numb. She did not cry. " No! I won't believe it until I see his dead body, no Lillianne, I can't believe it. I won't." She said, holding fingers in her mouth. Lillianne nodded. "Okay, yes you are right. I will hold out hope too." The women sat in the car, praying. A helicopter showed up over head. Adam called them. " We see the truck. It looks like Georgia's truck Delilah." He didn't say, it's over. We found him. They couldn't land. They would need to repel down. Adam couldn't do it with one arm. He called his ex-cop friend Ryan Davis. Ryan agreed, they spun the helicopter around to go refuel and pick up Ryan. The helicopter spun around in position, Ryan slowly repelled down, he landed on the truck and saw that it was upside-down. If Brandon was in there, he had been crushed. He was dead. There was no way he had survived. They would not be able to safely recover the truck, it would be Brandon's final resting place. Ryan wore a go pro, Delilah and Lillianne saw what he saw. Delilah finally admitted he was dead. She fell to the floor. She was completely destroyed. Brandon, day 2 after the accident.... Brandon pulled the handle of the passenger side door and quickly rolled out to the forest floor as the truck careened over the edge. He hit his back on a large tree trunk. It was the only thing that stopped him from rolling down the cliff with the truck. The truck crashed down to the bottom and landed with a loud bang. The pain in Brandon's back was excruciating. He lay there trying to self assess his injuries. One if his pant legs was cut off, he had only a button up shirt on and half of his charcoal grey slacks. Brandon was unable to move his body. He lay under that tree all night. On the second day of his crash, he was in shock from his injuries and trauma. When the sun came up, he opened his eyes to drops of rain landing on his head. Brandon leaned his head back and opened his mouth. He took in as much of the dripping rain water as he could. It tasted like pine tree, but it was very good. Brandon saw many tiny black ants running up and down the tree. He moved away from them. Okay, I can move now. He thought it was a great sign. Brandon looked up to the spot where the truck had gone off the road. It was very steep. He needed to try and climb up that hillside. He moved his legs under him as he sat up. They were not cooperating. He couldn't walk or crawl. Don't stop, don't give up, think of the kids. Do it for them. He was afraid to think about Delilah. He realized she was lost to him. She made it clear where her heart was. She made love with Antonio, she wished Sam was his baby. Brandon had thought about that for hours. He decided he would let her go. If that made her happy, he would concentrate only on his babies. Brandon scooted forward using his arms. His back was on fire. He thought he must have broken it. He moved up about 20 feet, he was breathing very hard. He held on to a small oak tree. It was progress. The rain stopped, he was soaking wet. He Began to shiver now. There was no relief from the cold. Brandon saw the sun was setting. He pulled debris around him for insulation. He fell asleep. He couldn't get more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time, because he was so cold. The sun came up, day 3. Brandon rolled over. He could move his feet today. He lay in the sunshine for hours and let the warmth heal him. He pushed forward one inch at a time. He slowly moved up this day, 30 feet. Brandon was feverish now. He was hallucinating. " Delilah, I'm sorry for everything." I slept with Antonio, I wanted his baby. I want him, not you. I will find him in Italy. I will take my kids with me." Brandon was crying. " Please, I can't do this if there is nothing to move for, stop!" He cried out, alone in the woods. He passed out. Day 4. Brandon's head was splitting in two. He was very dehydrated. He moved 15 feet today. It took everything from him. Brandon could hear cars above him. He thought it was another hallucination. They were speeding by on the freeway. He knew he was close, he would make one final push to the road above him. He was so very weak. Brandon worked slowly, one slow push at a time. The sun went down. This time he didn't stop. His mother, Milly spoke to him. You are so strong son. I am with you, everything will be fine, I love you....let love strengthen you.. Brandon reached his dirty hand up and felt the concrete. He made it to the road. He passed out again. Day 5. A truck pulled up, a man jumped out to urinate. He saw something shiney at the side if the road. It was a gold band. A man's ring. He reached down to grab it. He saw a hand hanging over the lip of the road, it was so dirty. He didnt see it until he tried to pull up the ring from the side of the road, it was attached to a brown, muddy hand. He froze. A body. He ran and got his wife. She climbed the steep ridge to see if it was a dead person. She found Brandon. He was barely breathing. The woman was frantic. She called 911. Brandon was found! Brandon wasn't able to speak, he was considered a John Doe. He was life flighted to Seattle Washington to the trauma hospital, Harbor view. They placed him in the ICU. X-rays confirmed he did have a broken back. Several of his toes were black with bruises from pushing himself up the hill. The doctors sent a report to the police, to alert them that they had a John Doe. The Seattle police had no reports of a missing male matching Brandon's condition. They forwarded the report to the outlying counties. Brandon was alive, barely. He was unconscious. He was being prepped for surgery to repair his back. Brandon's nurse was getting an IV in him when he spoke to her with his eyes closed. " Am I dreaming again?" She told him," No, this is real. You are alive. Can you tell me your name?" He nodded."Brand...Brandon. Jo...nas." He passed out again. The nurse thought he said his name was Brandon Joe Nas. She told the doctor. They couldn't find him anywhere in the system. He was wheeled into surgery. The police had fumbled the report of a John Doe being found as solved since Brandon Nas had provided his name. Henry no longer asked about him as they had found the truck. Adam was preparing a funeral for Brandon. Delilah and Georgia were busy rebuilding a new home on the farm. It would be bigger and better thanks to Adam's help. 2 more weeks had passed...
