The Hybrid Beta (#4 of the Denali pack)

Meeting Ava

-FLASHBACK-

Once me and the gorgeous girl had locked eyes, it seemed as everything around us had just vanished into thin air, or was being covered by fog. I needed to get to her. My hands were aching to hold her, I wanted to hear her speak and I wanted to kiss her. My wolf Hunter was howling inside of me, begging me to claim her, but that thought left my head immediately, once I saw who was standing behind her. The Beta, who had just given me his keys yesterday.

Why is he looking at me like he wants to kill me?

I swallowed as something clicked inside of me.

Shit, that’s his daughter!

I saw Sienna place her hands on his shoulder as she pushed him and the woman standing next to him towards the kitchen. The woman looked just like my mate, but only older.

That has to be her mother.

Her sister, who was looking exactly the same, but then again, made me feel nothing, grinned as she turned and walked away, leaving the two of us alone, as my feet finally made my way to the living room floor. I could feel my eyes open wide, making sure I could see every inch and perfect detail of the girl who was my mate. She was even more beautiful when I was standing directly in front of her. Her brown bambi eyes had some spots of pure gold in them, as a small dimple formed in her cheek when she smiled, giving me a luscious smile which almost made me melt.

Fuck, she is absolutely perfect!

While I was staring at this image of pure perfection, I hadn’t even noticed that my body was still moving, while my brain was so busy taking everything in. I had stepped until I was right in front of her, my hands had gotten up as they were cupping my mate’s face, gently lifting it, so our noses were almost touching. Her eyes were so hypnotizing, I knew it was just a matter of time before she would have me wrapped around her gorgeous little finger.

Who am I kidding?

She already has me wrapped around her finger and I don’t even know her name.

I felt her arms wrapping around my waist, the feeling of her arms around me felt warm, like coming home after years of being on my own. I had Kai and the pack of the lost boys, but this was different, this girl was my forever home. There was no doubt in my mind that I was staying inside of this pack from now on, with this pretty little thing by my side. I couldn’t resist myself and leaned down, I needed to know what her lips felt like, and the fact that my wolf was screaming inside of me to claim and mate with her, wasn’t helping at all. If I kissed her, maybe he would shut up, at least for a little while. Our lips stroked against each other, changing the entire energy in the room, the air was being sucked out of my lungs as my heart was overflowing for her. She had lips as soft as cotton. It scared me, making me afraid that I would hurt her if I kissed her too hard. I needed to protect this pretty little thing, with every fiber in my body. Making a promise to myself, that starting now, that was exactly what I was going to do.

She opened her lips willingly, inviting me in.

Who am I to decline this invitation?

So my tongue swiped in, as it explored our mate.

For God's sake, this girl can kiss!

She pulled me even closer as we deepened the kiss, which started to become harder, filled with a need, filled with lust.

She tastes the same way as her scent,

how in the hell am I ever going to be able to let her go?

*Seb, don’t take too long and come to the kitchen before her father has a meltdown.* My Alpha Kai linked me. Making me lean back and let go of her lips, as I needed to follow my Alpha’s command at all times. She looked at me, as a hint of sadness filled her eyes.

Believe me,

I feel the same way!

I breathed hard, my hands still holding on to her face.

“What’s your name?” I smiled at her, finding it hard to believe I had already kissed her, before even talking to her.

Her sadness flowed away as she smiled. I could tell she was happy, knowing I showed interest in her.

“Ava.” She almost sang to me, or at least it sounded like music to my ears, hearing my mate’s voice for the first time.

“And what is your name, or do I just call you mate?” She smiled as she tilted her head.

Shit, she looks even cuter this way! I cleared my throat as I tried to pull my s**t together.

“Seb,” I sighed, finding out I was failing miserably and just wanted to kiss her again.

“My name is Seb.” She smiled, hearing my name.

“Is that short for something?” She asked me, which made my forehead frown.

“I don’t know honestly.” I answered her, seeing new questions were building up in her eyes.

She has no idea what happened to me.

I sighed as I let my hands down from her face, picking up her hand as our fingers intertwined.

For now,

I can work with just feeling her hand in mine.

“What do you mean, you don’t know?” She asked me, curiously. I smirked as I turned, pulling her along with me to the kitchen, knowing a nightmare was waiting for me on the other side.

“I guess we have a lot to talk about, good thing we have forever to get through all the details.” I answered her, hoping that, for now, it would be enough. Thankfully, she nodded, agreeing with me.

First, I had to overcome my first obstacle, that being my mate’s parents. I had to win them over, they had to like me, they just had to. We made our way inside the kitchen as we walked over to Ava’s parents. The Beta and the Beta’s mate, who were sitting at one of the tables, were accompanied by Ava’s twin sister and a guy who I think could have been her mate, as well as my Alpha and Luna, Kai and Sienna. I felt the Beta looking down, his eyes pinning on my hand which was holding on to Ava’s.

“Already holding hands?” he huffed, making me loose my grip on Ava’s hand immediately.

Shit,

I need him to like me, not hate me.

The Beta’s mate pushed him with her elbow, which made him shift his gaze on to her.

“Do I need to remind you what we did the first night we met?” She hummed at him, making the Beta’s eyes open wide.

“Yes you may, but not in front of the kids.” He grinned back at her, before turning his attention back to me, no grin on his face at all.

"And something the two of you won't be doing at all!" He growled between his teeth, while standing up and reaching out his hand towards me.

“I am Sam, Beta of the Denali pack, Ava’s father and your worst nightmare, if you ever hurt one hair on my daughter's head.” I felt like I wanted to melt through the kitchen floor.

Pull yourself together Seb,

You are a Beta yourself, grow some damn balls.

I cleared my throat, trying to pull myself together and figure out what to say, taking the Beta’s hand and shaking it firmly.

“Seb, Beta of the lost boys pack, mate of your daughter and no intentions of hurting your daughter whatsoever, sir.” We both nodded at each other while we sat down at the table. A radiating Ava came sitting next to me, which made my wolf Hunter purr with pride, as I could tell that she was happy with my answer towards her father.
