10:42 a.m.
“Hurry!” she shouted, not minding her injuries and just continued on running the moment she went out of the car; purposely not moving her wounded arm as much as she could to avoid destroying the bandage and make the pain worse. Okay, my body really hurts.
The two, on the other hand, just walked with big steps to catch up on the girl who’s unaware that her strides aren’t as fast as she taught.
“Is she really that slow on running?” Calvin asked, a few steps away from Daisy who’s heavily breathing in and out repeatedly, obviously tired and worn out. “No. She’s normally slow but not that slow.” Eric answered.
I’ll literally crush Skull’s skull the moment I’m back in good shape! She mentally ranted for the nth time, still frustrated by the fact that she got tied up in a chair, continuously beaten by either baseball bats, woods, or plain punches, just because of not being able to get away from them because of lacking weapons to beat theirs.
Eric stared at her from behind before running forward to block her. “Wha-” Daisy’s question was cut short after he crouched don and put his hands behind him. “Hop on.” He said, tilting his head to glance at her.
“No thanks.” She declined. “They might suspect something happened.” She reasoned, walking towards him to stand in front of the two. “Just act normal and let me do the story.” She said, looking at them back and forth.
“And please, just go with the flow, okay?” she asked, worry clearly written on her face. “But you’re the one who’s not acting normally.” Cavin pointed out.
Confused, her brows nearly met as she slightly tilted her head to the side. “I’m doing fine and-” Eric stood up and quickly countered her unfinished reason. “No you’re not. No one’s dumb enough to think that you’re okay.”
“I-” Then again, her attempt to speak was cut off once again, causing for her to roll her eyes. “You’re obviously tired, specially that you’re trying to run; and that fact alone is enough to make people question you if you’re okay.” Calvin said.
When will these two make me finish my sentence?! She thought, her anger starting to rise. With a sigh, she looked at them sternly and was about to speak but was surprised when Calvin suddenly took big steps and quickly moved behind her.
The sudden movement was followed by a loud crash made by the impact. Turning around, Daisy’s eyes widened when she saw Calvin who’s looking at the girl who’s jogging towards them, and a ball of volley ball rolling on the ground.
“That ball hit that car?” she whispered, her eyes now on the car whose front was slightly deformed because of the ball. Her eyes then went back on the girl who just arrived, a worried expression plastered on her face.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to hit the ball too hard!” the girl with cream hair and chocolate eyes said. “I’m sorry! I was just testing the ball and I hit it too-”
“Who the hell plays volleyball at a parking lot?” Calvin questioned, causing for the teary-eyed girl look at him with surprised face. Trying to ease the tension by chuckling, she put her stray locks at the back of her ear and looked down, her hand brushing her bangs.
“I’m sorry. I’m just new here and I got excited when Mary lent me a ball and-” before she can say another word, Eric spoke. “Watch we’re you’re aiming at.” He said, both his and Calvin’s tone were obviously not meant for jokes.
Not up for another ruckus, Daisy shook her head. “Calm it guys, let’s just go.” She said, taking a few steps and stopping right beside the girl. “And be careful next time.” She said with a smile.
Starting to walk away, the two followed her, both not interested in staying to hear apologies coming from the frozen girl. What should I reason to my parents? Should I say that I left it in the car? Nah, impossi- wait! my car!
Realizing that her car’s not with her, she sighed bit her lip to avoid freaking out. It’s still in the gas station, right? She asked, trying to convince herself that she can get out of the mess.
After their slow and long walk, the three managed to reach the cafeteria who’s almost deserted if not for the staffs and other students with free periods. Easily spotting them, Daisy heaved a deep breath and slightly moved her right arm to check it one again.
I thought the cut’s not that deep but it hurt smore than I expected. She thought as she put on a smile and raised her left hand to wave at them. “Hey guys!” she called, causing for them to look at her.
Seeing her in good shape, Theia sighed and smiled widely. “Yo Daisy!” she enthusiastically called. “See auntie? I told she’s okay.” She said, looking at Daisy’s mother who’s looking at her daughter with curious eyes.
Huh? I thought auntie’s gonna laugh or something. Theia wondered after seeing her expression. “Hey uncle, I told you she’s-” Nathan’s words were stopped when he saw him looking equally confused, just like his wife.
What’s with their reactions? Nathan thought, looking at Theia who coincidentally looked back at him, both confused enough for them to not tease each other for staring at each other.
“I’m sorry for not answering you calls and messages mom, dad.” Daisy said, a sweet and innocent smile painted on her lips. “I forgot that my phone’s on silent mode and-”
“That’s not the clothes you’re wearing when you left the house.” Her mom straightforwardly pointed out, causing for Theia and Nathan look at her with confused and surprised faces.
Well, here goes nothing. She chuckled and shook her head. “Before going to school, I took a detour and went in a coffee shop near the mall.” She started. “I bought a cappuccino but a stranger bumped me and that fell all over my clothes.”
I look convincing, right? “As an option, I went in the mall and bought clothes so I can get change.” She finished with a smile. “And as for being late to school,” she paused, then looked at the two behind her.
Come on, Daisy, think! “I was on my way to school when car broke down. I stopped at a gasoline station and called for a technician because I don’t know how.” She explained.
“And then,” she gestured at the two. “While waiting, I lost track on time but luckily, these two messaged me in our group chat to ask why I’m not in school yet so I told them what happened.” She said, smiling at the audience she needs to impress.
“And when we’re on the road to go on our parents’ meeting place, we decided to stop and turn to fetch her.” Eric said, politely smiling at her parents. “But after we fetched her, she said that she wants to wait for the technician, so we spent our time waiting and went in the mall to at least kill boredom.” Calvin seconded.
Wow! They can be actors! Daisy praised as she saw them web out a lie to continue hers, their smiles and expression were convincing enough. “So, we’re sorry for not messaging or anything.” Daisy said, awkwardly chuckling to sound apologetic.
“I got excited at the book I’m reading at the store and even their persuasion for us to go back to school was ignored.” She said, her eyes were looking at them shyly. “I’m sorry, mom, dad.” She said, looking at them innocently.
After listening to them, her mom sighed. “You made us worry, honey.” She said, looking at her with disappointed face. “If something happened to you without us knowing, you’re going to be in trouble. You know that right?”
“If you can’t reply or call back, what’s the use of your phone then?” her dad questioned. “If I can ignore your continuous pleas when I’ll take your phone and all your gadgets, I would’ve done that right now.” He said, followed by a sigh.
Nice. They don’t suspect anything. Smiling widely at them, Daisy laughed. “I’m a good daughter. I just forget things sometimes.” Well, I do forget everything every month.
“So, will you, the best parents in the world,” she paused, then looked at Theia and Nathan. “And the best best friends in the world, will you four forgive me?” she asked cutely.
“It’s rare for us to see you play nice with us so of course, you’re clear for me.” Theia said and chuckled. “Me too. Since I’m one of the best best friends, of course I’ll accept the apology.” Nathan followed with a proud grin.
“What can I do anyway?” her mom asked and chuckled. “Just remember to call and message us, okay?” she reminded, causing for Daisy to smile and nod numerous times. “But if this will happen again, don’t expect me to be the best mother in the world.”
Daisy chuckled. “Yes Mrs. Evelyn Middlemist.” She formally answered, bringing a smile up her mother’s lips.
“Fine. But follow your mom cause I won’t be the best father in the world as well if this will repeat.” Her father seconded. “And you two.” he said, now looking at the two who’s looking back at him.
Her father sighed. “Don’t treat Daisy like a spoiled princess. She might enjoy it and order you around more.” He said, causing for a frown to appear in Daisy’s face.
“That’s true. If one of you will end up as her boyfriend, I can see that you’ll spoil her and let her do what she wants.” Her mother agreed.
“Mom, nobody talked about relationships.” Daisy rolled her eyes. “But anyways, since we’re cleared already, can we take a seat and eat? I’m hungry again.” Daisy asked. I haven’t eaten anything yet and I’m starving!
“Nate, move.” Theia said, pushing his chair sideways to create a space. She then turned around and pulled a chair from the nearby table, putting it beside her and patted it while looking at Daisy with a smile. “We removed the excess chairs back then but here, I took one so sit with me.”
Daisy laughed and nodded at her before walking towards them, smoothly moving her arms to continue the act of being alright. “Take your seats as well.” Her mom urged, causing for the two to nod and take chairs and place it on the space made by Daisy’s parents’ moving sidewards.
Now, the seven of then in the huge circular table were positioned with Nathan beside Theia, Theia beside Daisy, Daisy beside her mom, then her father, then Eric, then Calvin who’s beside Nathan.
“We just ate. So just order yours while we chat here with you.” Theia said. “I can confirm that. She just ate two servings of crepes and she’s about to have another one if I didn’t-” his words were stopped when Theia nudged him.
“I just ate two because that’s going to be my last snack of the day.” She bragged. “But honey, I just gave you a box of cookies I baked.” Daisy’s mom said before laughing. “You said you’ll eat them today, remember?”
Exposed, Theia gasped. “Auntie I-” not finishing her words she pouted and lowered her head, causing for them, except the two, to erupt in laughter.
“You’re proven guilty, T.” Daisy said with a teasing smile. “Now that you mention sweets, I want to eat doughnuts.” She said while nodding a herself. “Yep. Chocolate doughnuts.” I deserve a break, right? “Plus iced coffee.”
“Go and order now then. Learn to do things yourself.” Her father said. I would like too but I’m feeling lazy, tired, and not in the mood to exert force of my beat-up body. While thinking whether to agree or not, her thoughts were interrupted when Eric spoke.
“It’s okay uncle. I was about to get up to order mine so I’ll buy hers as well.” He said before standing up. “I’ll go with him so we can carry the food for the three of us at once. But if you’d like, is there anything you want to eat while chatting with us?” he politely asked to everyone.
“Nope. I’m good with the cookies- I mean the snack I ate.” Theia said, but her excuse can’t help her to hide the first words she stated.
“I’m fine too. I have a practice later so I can’t eat too much snacks and sugar.” Nathan denied. “Well, I’m fine but-” Daisy’s mom paused, now looking at her daughter who’s looking back at her as well. “Let my daughter work, will you?”
“Appreciate their kindness, mom.” Daisy frowned. “They just want to do some good deeds so let them be.” She said with a sweet smile. I’ll thank them later.
“Don’t rely on others so much. You’re going to end up being a lazy person.” Her dad lectured. “Now go and-”
“It’s fine uncle, she can stay here so she’ll be with you.” Eric cut off. “Yes, uncle. You can chat with her, and maybe Theia and Nathan can fill her in with details about the classes we skipped before.” Calvin seconded.
Getting their intentions, Daisy smiled. Thanks. “Thanks for reminding me about asking for the morning tea.” She said before chuckling. “So, anything new?” she asked, looking at Theia with a smirk.
Hearing that, an idea popped on Theia’s mind. “Oh there’s one!” she excitedly said. Seeing that everything’s going well, Eric and Calvin turned around and walked towards the counter.
***
Just as what happens whenever the two was left alone, silence enveloped them while waiting for the staff to fix the meals they ordered. While the two blocks the counter from the other students who’s in the line, the two turned around when they felt someone tapped their shoulders.
“Hello misters.” The girl from before, the one who nearly hit Daisy with a ball of volleyball, greeted, looking at them with a smile.
“What do you want?” Eric frankly asked. Taken aback, the girl blinked for a few times as if processing what happened, but later on smiled and nervously chuckled.
“Uh, I have a feeling that, you two are, uh, kinda, I don’t know- I mean,” she paused, chuckling once again. “Are you two still pissed about the ball thing?” she cautiously asked. “I felt that I haven’t apologized enough and since you two are here, I figured that-”
“No need.” Calvin said, turning back to the food that is being put in trays. “Here’s the three chocolates doughnuts, one iced coffee, one burger and soda, and one pizza slice and cola.” The staff announced after putting it on two trays.
Eric took the one carrying the drinks while Calvin took the one carrying the food. Without saying anything to the girl, the two walked back to the table.
“Yes! And let me tell you that she’s- oh hey Sasha!” Theia’s storytelling was cut off when she looked in front of them and waved her hand while smiling widely.
Daisy followed the direction where she’s looking at found a girl standing behind Eric and Calvin. “You’re Sasha Valentine?” The two then turned around and saw Sasha whos’ awkwardly smiling because of their intimidating stares.
“Um, I followed you here because I want to apologize properly.” She said, chuckling once again.
“I said that it’s not needed.” Calvin said, repeating his words from before. “Maybe for you two, I’m forgiven, but I’m still guilty.” She said, now looking at Daisy. “I didn’t mean to hit the ball too hard.” She said with an apologetic smile.
“Why? Did something happen?” Daisy’s mother questioned. “If this mister didn’t step up to get the ball, maybe she’s hit by the ball instead.” She explained, gesturing at Calvin then at Daisy.
“It’s nothing, really.” Daisy said and waved her hand in a dismissing manner, a smile plastered on her lips. “It’s not like we’re hurt and all so rest assured.”
“Calm yourself, young miss. If no one’s injured and they said it’s okay, you can drop the topic down.” Daisy’s father said, causing for Sasha to smile and heave a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness.”
“And don’t worry about Daisy being hit by a ball. She’s strong but always be careful okay?” Theia said with a smile and wrapped her arms on Daisy’s right arm, causing for her to wince and use her left hand to remove Theia’s.
“Wow, your grip’s getting stronger.” She said, trying to make it sound like a joke. “Look like our taekwondo lessons pays off, huh?” she smirked. It hurts!
“I’m learning from the best black belter in the world anyways.” Theia joke before chuckling.
“Well, since you’re here,” Nathan said, looking at Sasha. “You can introduce yourself to them. They’re our classmates as well.” He said with a friendly smile.
“Oh, okay.” She said, looking at them with a sweet smile. “I’m Sasha Valentine. I got late for school because of waking up late.” She chuckled. “Nice to meet you guys!”

August 03:
Hey diary,
Today, things were crazy. Can you believe it? I got kidnapped because of those ugly goons coming at me with weapons. I can take them down if they’re not many and with weapons. I am still mad!! Anyways, I just learned today that Calvin is good with daggers and Eric’s good with guns. I’m rethinking whether if I’ll continue messing them or not. But since I’m Daisy, I will annoy them as much as they annoy me.
I went back to the gas station by hitching a ride with Eric. Luckily, it’s still there and the staff protected it by saying that I’m his cousin who hurriedly hitched a ride with my boyfriend (yes, he made this up) when he said that there’s an emergency at their house. I tried paying him but he refused...such a kind man right?
If Theia don’t have spare notebooks in her locker, I can’t survive this day because I don’t have my bag with me. I really love her sense of responsibility when I comes to school (but she’s still a noisy, sweets addict so yeah)
And oh, we have a transferee. She’s Sasha Valentine. She seems good to be with because she gets along with everyone. She said she wants to be friends with us so we said yes (well, only me, Theia, and Nathan. Eric and Calvin were the sons of silence so what should I expect) because why not, right?
Anyways, I’m glad to have another (maybe because I’m still testing her out) valuable friend with me.
