Ariana's POV.
We were heading to the council.
Nate came and asked me politely to accompany him to the council. He said he would introduce me as his mate to the world. He made it clear he wanted it to announce. But he didn't ask me whether I was ready to face his world or not. I was still struggling to cope with my insecurities and fear of heartbreak and betrayal.
Sometimes it felt good to be loved and cared for by a strong and powerful man. But always being overbearing is too much to accept. I needed to breathe freely. But being with Nate was like I had to ask before taking my next breath. He made me feel safe as he was the most powerful, but at the same time, I feared who would protect me from Nate.
"Nate, it's too soon to announce our relationship," I tried to convince him to postpon
